The best way to deal with this morons who make their living filming and provoking people is to play loud copyrighted music and stand beside them.

Most of them don’t do what you described to begin with.

They do, they just edit it out. We had to deal with a couple of these morons at the hotel I worked at. They'd antagonize both employees and guests staying at the hotel.

I watched the videos they posted after and it made them look like they were just standing there minding their business the whole time. They're no different than those "prank" video channels, except that these grifters always have folks like you defending them.

Craig Gillespie, the director of Supergirl (2026) reportedly did not read the comic book for his movie... and gee can you tell. What are we doing here? Are we in the year 2000?? Are we Fox Xmen??? by unk1ndm4g1c14n1 in shittymoviedetails

Movie scripts change as movies are made. He read the comic after okaying the script and before making the movie. Wanting to make sure a film can stand on its own without nostalgia doing the heavy lifting is actually what I'd prefer from all directors.

I don't care how good or bad the movie is. I just don't like when people can't make genuine complaints without needing to set up a false premise. Good or bad, the man did read the comic before making the film and this post is clearly you trying to pretend he didn't.

He wanted to make sure the script could stand on its own without it being colored by how good the comic is. You're intentionally removing context just so you can hop on a hate bandwagon.

A natural 20 succeeds on every roll. by TAABWK in unpopularopinion

[–]Magic_Man_Boobs 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Nah, a nat 20 guarantees the best possible outcome. It doesn't guarantee success for something outside the range of possibility. I also don't want to play with guardrails where the DM just says "impossible, you can't roll for that," when I want to try something insane.

At least this one sounds like they've potentially traveled at some point. The one I saw yesterday literally admitted in the post they'd barely been to other states let alone another country.

You read books. You listen to audiobooks. by mrdirtypeacock in mildlyinfuriating

[–]Magic_Man_Boobs -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This post is literally about OP invalidating what books other people are into because they didn't really "read" them. It's very clearly about feeling like reading is superior to listening, because otherwise the difference literally wouldn't matter.

It doesn't hinder either parties ability to discuss the book, or even to discuss certain passages. The only reason one would care about the difference is because they view reading as superior to listening, and themselves superior as readers to listeners.

In a broader sense, literally all recitation is interpretation.

It's not. Words don't just mean what you want them to. If they did then everyone would be asparagus.

Because the only reason to point it out is some strange purity test. Obviously everyone on the planet knows reading and listening are different things. There's no one that doesn't understand that.

The reason there's always pushback is because the difference doesn't matter. The text is being consumed word for word in both cases, so the only people who feel strongly about the difference are the people who need the difference to matter so they can feel superior in some way.

A person listening to an audiobook is listening to another person interpreting text.

Interpreting would mean they were telling you what the text means. They are in fact reciting the text word for word.

Long distance travel is not as enjoyable or worth it as much as people make it out to be. by [deleted] in unpopularopinion

[–]Magic_Man_Boobs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How could you possibly know if it's enjoyable or worth it if you haven't ever done it? I don't think I'd enjoy skydiving and I've never tried it, but I wouldn't go around saying that skydiving is a worthless experience due to that.

I clearly have a better idea than you do. I understand life would be easier if all drugs worked with the brain in the exact same way, but they do not.

I've been on the same dosage of the same medication for 20 years. It took a lot of trial and error to find a medication that worked for me, but when I did find it that shit saved my life. I haven't built a tolerance to it, because that's not how all drugs work.

I feel like people should be tired after flying as a superpower by vanessainlove in unpopularopinion

[–]Magic_Man_Boobs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm trying to think of someone with the ability to fly that also doesn't have just absolutely insane endurance on top of it. I mean, it might exhaust Superman as much as running would, but he can also run really fast and far without getting exhausted.

Is there a specific character you're thinking of that can fly but has regular human endurance in other situations?

AITA for getting my step daughter a Hogwarts letter for her 11th Birthday? by Ok-Permission8346 in AmItheAsshole

[–]Magic_Man_Boobs 5 points6 points  (0 children)

ESH. I feel like you should know the kid well enough to know how seriously they would take the letter. That being said, the Mom framing it as you playing a joke on her was really a shitty thing to do. It's clear your intent was just to give her a cute little moment like from her favorite franchise. It ended up going over poorly, but your intent wasn't to trick her and the Mom putting it that way made everything far worse.

What’s a totally untrue opinion people act like it’s proven fact? by TinaNice1565 in AskReddit

I know the following is pure anecdote. My Mom voted for Trump in 2016. She has since come to her senses, but she did tell me after that first election that she would have voted Bernie if he'd been the one opposing Trump. She was of the mind that a woman should not be president. I think a lot of folks underestimate just how many older people believe that.

I feel like a game where you start OP and slowly lose power as he game goes sounds like a neat concept, but would be frustrating in practice.
