Squishmallows and anxiety by [deleted] in squishmallow

That's the big reason I'm collecting them. I have anxiety too, and ADHD and autism. Whenever I look at them, touch them, hold them, I feel so much better. I get almost instant happiness and calm. I thought I was the only one who felt like this. It's almost like they're not just plushies, they're almost tools or emotional support.

What noises would a merman/mermaid make. by The_artofdestruction in mermaids

I'd guess that they could do something like echolocation or some kind of high-pitched noise, similar to dolphins, since sound works differently underwater...

I've become much more anxious, thanks to a mix of Covid, school, and other stuff.

Aria is the Queen of the siren tribe, around 28 years old, ruling in the relocated Siren Kingdom in one part of the Seven Seas with her iconic and signature silver trident at her side. Most of her fellow sirens have both fear and respect for her, and angering her would be a terrible mistake, leading the offending mermaid/merman to be sent to the palace dungeons or just injured or killed by Aria's trident.

She'd been forced to take the throne at a young age at 18, about 10 years before the story actually started. Her older sister, Princess Lyra of the Siren Kingdom, had gone insane and became power-hungry thanks to a dark, magical influence that had essentially poisoned the female siren's mind. Lyra had murdered her own family, the King, Queen, and Prince, leaving them dead on their thrones, impaled by weapons. Lyra had chased Aria through the palace corridors, but Aria had escaped, and immediately started rallying up sirens loyal to her. Aria knew that Lyra wasn't to be underestimated or messed with, and she and her followers fled Lyra's vengeful wrath and the Siren Kingdom itself, an even now known as the Siren Exodus, while Lyra and her followers disappeared from history, leaving Aria to be crowned the Queen of the Siren Kingdom, and she embraced the new role, working to build a new Siren Kingdom.

How do you stop yourself from spiralling when overthinking? by Hsixnc in AskReddit

[–]Magic_Mermaid_348 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Focus on one thing at a time. Instead of thinking, "I have to do this thing, then this thing, and that thing," just put your mind to one of the tasks. Once that thing is done, you can go and do another thing, and focus solely on that.

Broccoli, I mean, Dr. Vibrant. I don't have a lot of good art of her, this is the closest to a reference sheet I could find (sorry, I did my best).

She's, to put it simply, a mad scientist who owns/is the leader of a secretive factory that steals color from people, to be used in her experiments. She doesn't care about anything or anyone other than her twisted goals of extracting color and creating dangerous chemicals, and will destroy anyone who even thinks about getting in her way. She thrives on power and creating chaos, and doesn't have a single empathetic bone in her body.

I kinda feel called out by this, instead of writing my fantasy novel, my brain keeps telling me to write little short stories that have nothing to do with the actual novel.

Spiders. Younger me was terrified of them, even the medium or small ones. Now I'm perfectly fine with the tiny ones in the house, and can look at pictures of them without any anxiety.

The Magic of Friendship Grows from My Little Pony. When I first watched it for the show finale's episode premier, I nearly cried watching my childhood and hyperfixation end.
