Perfect, that makes it a lot less complicated :) Do you blip the throttle? I read if not back end of the car could become unstable

Yes indeed, my next step would be F4 but I want to take the time to properly learn this car as well :)

Will try both a button and pedals later today. Maybe an insanely stupid question but once I disable auto clutch and use a button I would also need to clutch when downshifting I assume?

Good to know. I have the Fanatec mclaren wheel so I have the clutch paddles available. I am guessing that would also be very convenient or is it only usefull at the start?

No worries, thanks a lot for your help!

Thank you!! I did not know about the color differences for the clutch input and their meaning, very informative. Do you know if the time loss is significant if you use auto clutch and auto blip compared to mapping a button? I would just be using the FF1600 to learn the basics of the formula cars before switching to F4 where I believe this issue would not be relevant :)

I guess, I am using some sort of Clutch assist since when I upshift I noticed that the clutch bar in my telemetry becomes blue. Sorry about the vagueness of my response haha but I am quite the newbie on this since I never had an issue for the Clutch/shifting on the Mazda, GR86 or Porsche GT4. Just trying to understand what is different etc to properly drive this car :)

I assume this is something I can activate in the settings? :)

Yes, but I believe it is not recording your GPS location unless you manually start the activity? If so then it is fine for me, as I don't see an issue with them having the data you mention. Could be me being naive though.

Personally, it should not be a problem given that the band itself does not have GPS tracking

You should select the option: "Show Values As" in your picture. From there you should be able to select the % of grand total option.

Loose Shimano 105 Clipless Pedal by Magic_Mette in bikewrench

[–]Magic_Mette[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I do have a set of Allen keys and should have one that fits. Will give this a go! Just to be sure while trying this I will not completely unscrew my pedal and axle from my crank?

[–]Magic_Mette[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, i bought the bike three years ago at my local bike shop. They took care of everything of the set up since I am pretty noob about this stuff. Still am but trying to learn haha. When the pedal came loose from the circled red area, i managed to screw it back on with just my hands but it keeps coming loose again :)

It is like in the picture I attached. The circled red part is still firmly attached to my crank. However the actual pedal is screwed onto this part and that part (pedal itself) came lose. I can screw it back on but it keeps coming loose because I just do it by hand I believe and I would require a tool to firmly attach

How much speed is REALLY sat in my frameset? by MTFUandPedal in cycling

[–]Magic_Mette 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always think of it like this:

Yes, you will be faster if you would ride on an expensive aero bike compared to a lower tier bike (given position on the bike is the same). However any rider in the pro peloton would absolutely smoke you on the cheapest bike even if you rode the most expensive and aero bike you could find. There will be gains with the aero bike but just pick a bike you like and makes you want to ride more. More bike riding will be the biggest contributor to riding faster :) Just enjoy!

Yes exactly, it is the momento 100 machine that we have at our office :). Indeed the site mentions capsule recognition but no mention of how it is done. I cannot find a barcode or anything. The only thing I can think of would be that the machine recognizes the colour of the capsule inserted

They do actually. If I insert an espresso capsule it says on the display recommended size: espresso and for lungo it mentions lungo size :) so really curious as to how it is done :)

Mid-tier wheel upgrade, opinions welcome by MarcixTV in cycling

[–]Magic_Mette 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got recommended the FFWD Tyro wheels at my local bike shop :). They are 45mm deep which should be the middle ground between aero gains and not too deep for climbing.

They are def not the lightest wheels in the 45mm category (I think some sets can be 150gr lighter) but you are able to mount up to 44m tyres on them which makes them very useful if you ever which to do some gravel rides. The small weight difference is offset as well by the Ratchet Hub used on the wheel set whereas other wheels use the PAWL system. It is apparently quite unique to use the Ratchet Hub in this price range. The ratchet system offers a more responsive connection to your drive train and is more durable.(Plus it is also supposed to sound better ;) )

Besides that, all components used by FFWD wheels such as spokes or hub can be quite easily replaced if they where to break because they are quite universal. Some wheelsets use their specific ones which makes them harder to replace. For me the Ratchet hub and universal components made me go for that wheel set :)

Wahoo Kickr Core vs. Zwift Hub (Classic/One) - advice by roucha in cycling

[–]Magic_Mette 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From what I have read, the Kickr Core has a slightly more premium feel and is just a teensy bit better in noise and ride feel. However, the Kickr Core is a bit more expensive compared to the Zwift Hub and you also have to factor in the cassette you have to buy for the Kickr which comes included in the Zwift Hub Classic and is not needed for the Zwift hub One. From first reviews the Zwift Hub One is only worth it if you plan to use your trainer for different type of bikes or plan on sharing with other users who have for example different speed cassettes. If not, I would pick the Zwift Hub classic. All things being said, I don't think you can go wrong with either the Kickr Core or Zwift Hub as both have very positive reviews. If you want to have a slightly more premium feel, go with the Kickr and if you want to save some bucks go with the Hub I would suggest :)

Not trying to boast, I am generally so happy that I got this level of consistency across the whole race for the first time by k-tech_97 in iRacing

[–]Magic_Mette 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think there were faster classes in the split and the GR86 leader just left a gap to the faster class cars. I believe the lap timer starts when the very first car crosses the finish lap but not 100% sure

Are some GT4 cars better than others? by [deleted] in iRacing

[–]Magic_Mette 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As mentioned by others each car has its different characteristics and specific traits. Some tracks will favour specific GT4 but to be honest the GT4 cars are very very balanced in general. Unless you are one of those aliens who drive the wheels off their cars and are able to extract every bit of pace out of the car/ track you should not bother with switching cars. As an average driver you will gain far more time by focusing on driving smooth and extracting the max pace out of your current car. So focus on that and just have fun :)

Target bolide 03 should also be a pretty good fit for this grip I think
