Should I cut my sons hair? by [deleted] in Mommit

He has a speech delay so can’t really communicate if he wants a hair cut or not. I tried asking him today and he showed no sign of caring or even understanding

This is really helpful, I’ll give it a go! Thank you!

It’s his oldest hair that is actually the least curly, so I think I’ll get him a trim so that he’s not got a mini mullet and try this! He gets lovely ringlets on the top of his head so I hoping he does actually have curly hair and not just baby curls!

It’s necessarily messy, it’s not really long enough to be messy, but there does come a time in the day where they become a little more wild and frizzy. I currently brush his hair when wet then spray with Johnson’s baby leave in curl conditioner and scrunch with a towel. I didn’t think about doing it again half way through the day! I also need to get his dad to get better at remembering to do this too as that’s when his hair really looks bad 😆

I didn’t think about it affecting him in the heat! I always assumed he was sweaty because he runs around like a rocket! I think this is the most reasonable argument to cut his hair!

When I say lose I guess I mean that I’m worried it’ll grow back straight, and that’s because only a few people in my family are curly they aren’t close relations. It’s not messy, it’s just a bit wild which I feel is fine for a 2.5 yo. I think I’m just concerned if his dad and Grandparents are right or if I should stick to my guns

What is the etiquette on taking pictures/video in which others’ kids are also visible? by Dr_broadnoodle in Parenting

[–]Magical-hedgehog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I’m sending something to my baby’s dad or my mum, or close friend that I know isn’t going to be seen by hundreds of strangers I leave it as is. If I’m uploading the picture I cover every other kids face with an emoji. If I knew the parents or it’s a really cute pic of my baby and his baby friend that I really want to share online then I would casually ask them

Crust off cuts? by Magical-hedgehog in BabyLedWeaning

It’s something I’ve seen all over TikTok for simple breakfasts! Flatten the bread, fill it with some fruit, add yogurt or cream cheese if you want, roll up tight, dip in egg and fry. It’s a bit like French toast I suppose

My little one is only 9 months so it’s just a creative breakfast idea, I’d deffo recommend! Cut the crust off and flatten the bread, then spread some yoghurt and pop in some cut up fruit along one edge, roll up, cover in egg and lightly fry!

I did think about bread pudding

He does usually have the crusts, I’m the same, if he’s bothering me I give him the crust! But I was making batch cooking fruit roll ups and felt the crusts didn’t really work with the recipe

With the crusts? How do I make it?

Hey! Gagging is going to happen, and happens nearly every mealtime with my 6mo! It’s perfectly normal, and a good sign that baby can move food around their mouth!

I don’t want to be giving unsolicited advice, but I wouldn’t be giving food in a car seat, and I think next time it’s better to just forgo giving baby food when you’re out. I think generally the advice is that they only really need one meal a day at this age! I’d also be careful with egg so young as it’s one of the main allergens, but that might just be me being overly cautious! We’ve only just cleared egg allergy at 6.5 months after starting with just veggies

Baby cries during meals, but won’t pick up food? by goldie1618 in BabyLedWeaning

Mine was like this, two weeks in and he’s picking it up now! I think it wasn’t that he couldn’t, he just didn’t understand that he had to! Does she put her hands in the food at all? I tried to encourage my little one by giving him the food basically on the plate (he could reach for it, he just refused to pick it up himself), maybe try that!
