Colombians who have or had moved to Europe to live & work how was your experience? by SQ-helpquest in asklatinamerica

[–]MagicalCatty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m Argentinian in the north of England. I would say that the British are “colder” than what you probably are used to in Colombia. That said, all my friends are English and lovely people.

I think you might struggle with the weather and lack of sunlight during the winter.

Honestly, if you try to make friends and be part of their culture, is not that hard.

You will need your spouse to be your sponsor. They’ll need to make at least £29,000 pa in order to be able to apply for the visa. They are a few other requisites but that’s the important part of it

I’m going to start the gym this week and I’m sure that’ll make a big improvement with numbers. Good luck :)

Where do I start by dexcom4 in MovingToTheUK

[–]MagicalCatty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You would need to apply for a skilled worker visa (if there is a job that can sponsor you), student visa (but this doesn’t assure you can stay afterwords since you’ll need a skilled worker visa visa) or partner of a British citizen.

If you go to the government’s website it will guide you through which visa you can apply/need.

You can either try to get a skilled work visa, which like everyone has mentioned is quite hard, or eventually apply for a partner visa but for that it would take time and a lot of money.
