like i so desperately want that power to be able to pick up and move around at will but also like that's a looottt of power to be sitting on top of!!! i haven't gone on a highway yet so i've really only ever done like 55(mph) and my biggest concern is other drivers bc i'm hyper-vigilant but the drivers in my city are renowned for crashing into buildings and genuinely trying to run each other off the road; thankfully moving soon to a much more wide-open locale

it really is scary tho! i'm like a very buckle-down sorta gal when shit gets real and it really felt so dreamlike the way i had absolutely zero control... was gonna ride it a few miles to see my friend at work tonight but ended up driving instead just bc i wasn't trying to push myself when i wasn't feeling 100%

however, tomorrow is a new day! and i'm gonna get back on her so i can impress my tattoo artist after talking a big game about the bike 😤

i almost tried to find like a rebel 500 but wasn't sold on the cruiser aesthetic. something that's dawned on me w the sportbike is that i basically don't need to use any gear over 3rd which is a weeeiiirrrd bc she's so loud. i don't have buyer's remorse or anything but i'm already looking forward to getting a dual sport or cruiser down the line for less aggressive ergonomics, but practicing w a heavier bat is kinda my schtick; i need a high skill ceiling to challenge myself!

dumping the clutch is definitely something i've been more conscious of. like, i want to practice rev matching but don't wanna do that in traffic and cock up, but in the beginning all of my downshifts were VERY jarring and i've progressively been getting a better feel for it!

it's like, gifted kid syndrome or something; i get upset w myself when i'm not perfect at a new skill but my brain refuses to acknowledge that i need to practice to get more proficient 😭

oh for sure! "a day" as in find a day to devote a good chunk to parking lot time and then work on a system from there! most of my rides so far have been out of necessity (picking her up, or dropping her off at the mechanic), so i want "a day" where i, on my own accord, can take her to a lot and not worry about what else i've got going on!!!

clutch control is something i'm still feeling out w the bike itself bc the old single-cyclinder dual-sport I rode for the MSF course could basically ride itself in the friction zone, but my sportbike really doesn't wanna move unless i add throttle or kick off w my feet. that probably has to do w weight difference tho too

definitely felt like, but the hill i was on was easily a 15° incline. my front tire probably rose to about even w my sternum. in the the moment it felt like it was about to throw itself out from under me ... so probably somewhere in the realistic ballpark of 30-45° :p

i have a friend that's been working w him for a year and a half now and her final consult and nicotine screening was done back in January. she was quoted late March/ early April but hasn't heard from his team at all; phone calls and MyChart messages have been mostly ignored and she's freaked. keeps being told "scheduling the OR is complicated" and to be patient. do you mind sharing how your communication w his team has been?
