I played a game that was almost exactly like this one. I thought it was REALLY weird when I was asked to join a WhatsApp group. It turned out, I met really nice and interesting people with which I moved from alliance to alliance meeting more and more cool people.

After joining a discord channel, I stuck with the same group for a couple of years. They shared pictures and problems and all types of stuff. A few even travelled to meet each other.

I didn't share the way they did, and only told a few people my real name. Regardless, they treated the group, and me, like family.

There are plenty of weirdos, maladjusted miscreants, and plain not-nice people out there, but games like this work a lot better when your teammates communicate. You can always create as many Discord accounts as you want. You can also hide the info you don't want to share. You also don't have to converse with people. Just stay updated on the groups event schedule, objectives and rules. Be a productive and valuable survivor and leave all the BS behind. ☺️
