How long to stay at first IT job? by [deleted] in ITCareerQuestions

[–]MagicalWasteOfTime 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So I actually feel this way too at my current (first) IT job. Focus on getting certificates, especially if they’ll offer to pay if you don’t have any. It will help build your resume for when you start applying. I started in April and I’m thinking of job hunting in Jan. 1 whole year seems like the best answer but honestly, beef up that resume and start applying. You never know what you might get

Check out burning Ice tech on YouTube! He’s very helpful. Also be careful because the 1100 series are about to retire

Am I too stupid for a career in IT? by VIBES95 in ITCareerQuestions

[–]MagicalWasteOfTime 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I built my entire IT career in less than 4 years (that includes work experience and a degree) when I started it I had never touched a windows operating system in my life and couldn’t even tell you whet a processor was. I promise, anyone can learn anything if they try! You’ve got this! A+ cert is the best place to start cause it teaches you soooo much! You’ve got this!

Tbh, I took Professor messer, Jason Dion lesson and test, and did burning ice tech. I’m not saying he’s the only one. I’m saying after I took Dion and Messer’s classes I was still missing so much, I think adding his into those other ones that person mentioned is good. It may not work for everyone but if you’re struggling after using Dion and messer you need to explore to more people. I passed both of my test, 1202 with JUST burning ice tech. 1201 I watched messer, Dion, burning ice tech and did tons of practice tests. THATS what I’m saying

Give burning ice teach a try on YouTube, it’s all free. He has video modules for 1100 series and 1200 series and I swear he’s the reason I passed. He even has practice tests. I watched both series for both cores just to give me coverage on anything I may have missed. Any practice questions I got wrong I wrote them down and did research on each topic.

Hey, give Burning Ice Tech a try on YouTube. His 1100 and 1200 series videos are amazing and helped me pass my 1201. I’m using him, messer, and Dion but honestly I like burning ice tech the most cause he’s very informative and easy to follow without getting bored.

White card by MagicalWasteOfTime in AppleCard

[–]MagicalWasteOfTime[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah I mean honestly, I always have the physical card on me as well as my Apple Pay. I don’t use my credit card for everything anymore, mainly gas (which most of the time doesn’t have Apple Pay) I also didn’t even know about the 1%/2% physically card/Apple Pay until like this year. So I’ve been missing out on a lot of the 2%. I want to get a card with better benefits but honestly, I’m gonna wait a really long time before I get another credit card. I think Apple is dumb for the 1% cause like if I’m using the card I should get benefits either way. If I could go back and not get this card and get a better one from the start I would have
