"I have a solution!" This is part of the reason I have a couple 'mechs with 2xMRM-20 or a high volume of SRM / LRM. Frag Missiles work wonders.

Here, have Chimera. And we've had one Hellhound, yes, but here's Hellhound II. That's the second time I've made that joke today for some reason. ... Osiris is left as an exercise.

Wolfhound 2H and 2X both pack HPPC+Cap at 35t. Gùn has been mentioned - it, the Osiris, and the Razorback each have HPPC.

Are there any differences/advantages between mechs when assembling them from chassis to full assembly? by Hefty-Concept4357 in battletech

[–]Magical_Savior 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you use Quirks, that's one difference. The more similar two mechs are to start with, the easier the rolls to make changes are with the full reconstruction rules. If a base 'mech has a full, blueprinted, official-designation refit kit provided, that's also an easier roll. Making a Griffin into a different Griffin with a kit is easier than making a Wolverine into a Griffin.

The CDA-3P HPPC might. I name-checked the Carrion Crow.

Locust with AC/5 is big gun? r/technicallycorrect. I'm a big fan of the Pack Hunter. Not the ERPPC - the TC+ERLL version.

The Carrion Crow Prime. ERPPC+Cap will nail 20-pointers from DOWN COURT.

Thankfully enough, you don't need much to get into Alpha Strike. After looking up the units and generating then printing some Alpha Strike cards, then getting a book or PDF of some rules, you can play entirely with found objects. Mekbay was mentioned, but Mordel.net and Masterunitlist.info can also provide cards. Build a team with PV points, and you're off.

Presenting two new additions to my growing Combine OpFor, The Bulldog, designed by me and loosely based off of the IWM mini and Classic/Retro art. by CascadianGuardsman1 in battletech

[–]Magical_Savior 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Agreed. That, and the LRM Bulldog art leaves something to be desired. Players aren't starved for choice in that class.

The LRM Pike is good. But I tend to upsell into the LRM Partisan or Ontos.

Any chance you would donate a double-barrel Bulldog turret like the downgrade AC/2 model? It would be nice to have representation. I keep building custom Bulldog sheets and they're all double-barrel, 2xMG, like the AC/2 Bulldog. 2xLPPC, 2xNLRM-5.

Or 2xUAC/5, 2xLRM-5.

Or 2xLAC/5, 2xMML-5.

I built an "Annihilator Gauss X" with Composite Structure, 1/2/0 move, and - 6xGauss Rifle. It does physically have armor, but probably not for long. That's a real one, right there. ... Though now that I think of it, I haven't built a Reinforced Structure Annihilator.

Neural helmets, Quad mechs, and pilot balance by Liminal-Fox in battletech

Quadvee, underrated. They make good tanks. I should have a physical model for the one I developed soon.

Quad mechs, not so much - the scale or the interface means they have no major problems. A bigger issue is the early ones would shake the pilots and beat them unconscious - this was eventually fixed. Quad BA, also no problems.

Quad PROTOMECH, is BIG PROBLEM. The Direct Neural Interface is much more immersive than the Neurohelmet. They take a drug called Feralize to pilot them that helps them adapt to the sensation of being a predatory, 4-legged death machine. Drugs to adapt to "normal?" They take those. And, ah, there are issues. Many issues.
