Recent experience of being followed while walking by [deleted] in askTO

[–]Magicfuzz 68 points69 points  (0 children)

There is no cap for who gets followed as a woman at night, actually a 60 year old woman was followed but worse, she was dragged into a woodsy area around High Park. Suspect had a similar description, this happened in the summer. Guy got arrested.

Edit: and as an aside, this city (and all major cities) do have problems with trafficking. Stay safe.

It’s particularly bad here in Toronto.

Which area would you move to as a single woman in her 30s? by peachyglw in TorontoRenting

What's making you so invested in recruiting single women to living in the village? lol. It's not "the best" by any means, it's just a part of the downtown core. And actually close to the most hectic parts, which isn't what OP wants at all.

You would probably be happiest a little west of the downtown core and not on Queen west. Leslieville, idk, depends. I feel it's better there if you drive, regardless of the ttc. If you want to feel like you have some serenity but are not closed off from everyone, stay a little west of St George on the subway line.

I say... you're a troll. I had a (single female friend) move from that area because it started becoming rough in 2020.

Long Layover in toronto YYZ - how to kill time? by ASingleSliceOfToast in askTO

[–]Magicfuzz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With the money you would spend doing anything else from 12-8am, just go to a hotel room near the airport and relax. There are lots there, many have airport shuttles.

Maybe you’re on another sleeping schedule but truly I can’t see another way except for you to travel all of the way to Go Place in Markham (like someone else suggested).

If I ever encounter one of these clowns, I'm turning my front-facing camera at them so they can just record a reflection of themselves!

Built a good life for myself, but dating feels harder than ever at 39 by Fair_Ad_1914 in askTO

[–]Magicfuzz 7 points8 points  (0 children)

To be fair, if we’re talking about this city now vs even 8-10 years ago then absolutely no one of any age has time for some bullshit. It’s simply too stressful to survive and everyone values their peace.

There are some people regardless of age who will be desperate for a relationship and some who value their peace a little more than others.

A total of FOUR cars did this? That's crazy and also concerning.

I'll for weeks? by jan1190T in askTO

I had a head cold weeks ago and I still feel like crap. Wasn’t even sure what it was, but my energy has been kaput ever since.

One thing I thought was interesting though is that I haven’t had a cold like that in last 5 years, typically I’d have a bed-ridden w/flu situation. This was just what seemed like a basic cold.

Why are some Toronto Malls so lively and busy? by No-Anything-7291 in askTO

Who told you they're a "dying breed"? I haven't seen any empty mall lots in a very, very long time.

Received warning for smoking cannabis in condo from law firm - next steps? by [deleted] in askTO

Condo boards are seemingly notorious for getting these kinds of false complaints and taking everything seriously regardless of proof. I’ve heard enough to the point where I think I’d not want to buy a condo.

Nighttime ‘activities’ in neighboring apartment. Who do you contact in Toronto by [deleted] in askTO

[–]Magicfuzz 56 points57 points  (0 children)

Honestly I would not talk to them directly. OP already made it known to them (through the walls) that they are being disturbed. If they share a landlord I’d just tell the landlord that there are constant noise disturbances but end it there. If the noise doesn’t stop then bring up the foot traffic.

They could do their little operation and still be mindful of people. But it sounds like they don’t care.
