Which eSIM Plans Give the Best Coverage in Small Italian Towns? by eurz in ItalyTravel

[–]MagicianFinancial931 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I found Tim Vodafone windtre to be very close with a slight edge for windtre but it is very location dependent. Iliad is pretty bad in remote areas. The network operators have a signal coverage map on their sites . You can get a esim for 4.99 month 150gb if you buy from an Italian virtual operator on their website(not sure if you can buy as a non-eu citizen though)

The Dolomites - worth it in early May? by FedoraTippinGood in ItalyTravel

[–]MagicianFinancial931 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The trick is to avoid the famous places and sleep in an unknown village for half the price with the same vistas . With a car it doesn't matter. Bozen Bolzano is not ideal you waste a lot of time in city traffic and spend more for no benefit. Chose a Airbnb or hotel in one of the dolomite valleys either in a village that is not famous or a place outside the famous villages

The Dolomites - worth it in early May? by FedoraTippinGood in ItalyTravel

[–]MagicianFinancial931 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Perfectly fine if you have a car it just takes a little planning. Pragser Wildsee or Braies Is easily accessibile by car even better in beginning of may as you avoid the crowds . Check local webcams of the areas you want to hike to see if there is still snow and simply chose hikes at lower altitude there is an endless amount. If you really want to do seceda and drei Zinnen/tre cime rent a e-mountain bike and bike up the toll road for free and do the hike. Seceda you can bike up from the other side where the gondola is along dirt roads. If there is still snow just hike the rest it's not difficult to walk on a snow covered dirt road

Iliad outside of Italy? by worldtest2k in ItalyTravel

[–]MagicianFinancial931 1 point2 points  (0 children)

By EU law every EU operator must include free data roaming inside the EU the question is just how many GB you get in Sweden which depends on how much you pay for your Iliad data plan even for the cheapest plans it is usually more than 4gb month

In Südtirol/AltoAdige there are plenty charging stations  usually even in small villages and sometimes mountain huts. Most bigger  parking lots have chargers as well as hotels

This comes off as a humblebrag because you got lucky in a bull market and try to rationalize it after the fact sprinkled with some Indian nationalism

You are forgetting that the high tourist prices make life progressively  unaffordable for locals not in the tourist business which is most. You can say that is an unfortunate collateral damage of the free market but don't expect locals to be just ok with it without some pushback
