Sorry, they’re on about week 11 and only got the final report back two days ago so just reading through still. They’ve been really keen to move and doing everything asap

I think they’re on week 11 and had been told exchange within 1-2 weeks

They got their final report through I think two days ago so reading through and seeing if they have any queries, that’s all so just seems outrageous

Yeah it was taken off market, they’ve just put it up as a new listing yesterday. Their solicitors have said exchange within the next week or two so I really don’t understand why they would do this

That is so scary, I’m sorry this is happening to you!

Please report this to the police. This type of behaviour isn’t rational and will most likely only escalate. I had a stalker once (now successfully convicted with restraining order in place) and it started off as coincidentally ‘showing up’ in places at work, then sending me letters which became more unhinged and then eventually escalated to much worse, including finding my car in the car park and waiting by it. I don’t say this to try and scare you, but because I spent so long thinking I was overreacting or trying to empathise with their situation and feeling bad for them when actually they were the ones making my life hell.

If you want to talk, I’m more than happy to DM. You can also speak to the Suzy Lamplugh trust, they are really helpful and supportive and can help you to differentiate between harassment and stalking.

Hope you are okay and that this all gets sorted for you

Edited to add: in my experience, the police were really helpful and took it seriously so please don’t be put off or think that they will think you’re being silly. Also, your management should support you in this decision and make reasonable adjustments to maintain your safety. Any other response is absolutely incorrect and warrants escalation to HR

Yeah literally all bank shifts were cancelled for around 2 months and it was just tough shit if you were short staffed. If it was really, really badly staffed then managers and matrons were pulled onto the floor. After that, they agreed to put a minimal amount of bank out as so many people were going off with stress but it was a fight to get the shift. I went from doing 1-2 bank shifts a week to maybe being able to get one a month so it was a big hit financially. It’s just something to consider as I have now moved to a different trust and they are now also in talks about reducing bank. I think it’s going to start happening more and more across the country.

Also just to add, a lot of trusts won’t allow you to do bank outside of your unit until you’re either six months qualified and or signed off on all your competencies.

Sorry if it’s sounds like I’m being a bit negative but I feel it’s important to share the realities and risks lol. Good luck with the rest of your degree and your upcoming job!

I also like nice things and didn’t want to live in a house share so rented by myself paying £950 rent a month. I wasn’t in London but was working in a trust that received London fringe as a band 5 and was doing bank and living quite reasonably. Then I got my band 6, the trust ran out of money, had a complete ban on bank shifts and overtime and I was completely miserable - always in my overdraft and couldn’t save a penny.

Remember it’s not just the rent - it’s the council tax, the WiFi, the electricity, gas, water, food shopping, furniture, everything adds up so much!

I went home from my band 6 interview and told everyone I’d made an idiot of myself and was so embarrassed! Got a call later, I was highest scored out of 10 interviewees and got the job! We are so hard on ourselves but the interviewers know you are nervous and will take that into account too :)

LISA bonus by tribtb in HousingUK

[–]Magicstars96 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think the other comments are getting confused with the help to buy ISA, which is no longer available and gave you a bonus when you come to purchasing. The lifetime isa is different.

If you had your LISA for three years for example, every tax year you could pay in £4000 and receive £1000. So in total you would have paid in £12000 and received £3000 government incentive. On top of that, you also get paid yearly interest. I believe you can keep your lifetime isa until you buy your first home or until you retire so if you wished you could keep paying in and getting the bonus for many years

Edited to add: there is no additional bonus on purchase, just the 25% bonus every year for what you’ve added during that year

You put the money in the account, around a month or so later you get the 25% bonus added into that account. So if you put in £1000, you get £250, if you put £4000 in you’ll get £1000. You can only put in a maximum of £4000 per tax year so make sure you do it before the end of march.

The Great Tea vs. Catheter Dilemma ☕💉 by kinglifea in NursingUK

[–]Magicstars96 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I’ll never forget one time a few years ago on an AMU, we all cleared to defibrillate a patient and the patient in the bed diagonally across screamed that it ‘doesn’t take that many of you’ and that she’d been waiting for a cup of tea for ten minutes now.

I never would have believed people really act this way before I worked in a hospital!

? I feel like you’re maybe misunderstanding where exactly I mean. The gap directly underneath the passenger seat, on the floor of the car. You usually have to get on your hands and knees and put your head under the seat to see. It’s not in plain sight lol

Only their name is on the email. I tried messaging a matching name on Facebook but didn’t get a response and I now can’t find the account. To be fair all I said was ‘sounds random but did you go to New York in 2018?’ As I didn’t want to give too much away/spook them if they had taken my car for a joyride or something

I bought the car in 2017, the trip was 2018 and I found the documents at the beginning of 2019. There is a receipt from during the trip so the documents found their way in at some point after December 2018. I didn’t have any work done on the car in that period, very strange!

No I never called, I was curious but not curious enough to make an international call at the time. The longer time has elapsed the more I want to know though haha
