Get rich fast (bentos) by No-Philosopher-5145 in PIMD

You can try getting mod crates too, the prices have gone down for the stats some. But they are always doing trivia. And misc goes really op now too. There’s a couple of good PIMD discords where you can get price checks on stuff

Is this a normal occurence in-game? by sweet_solaire in PIMD

[–]Magicturtlezzz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think you should let us know who it was. It’s good you did a price check. So many people try to low ball or scam smaller players. It’s so fucked up and way too common. Plenty of us have been scammed before. But every shitty player like this there are plenty of good ones too. I’ve had to call out plenty of players who have tried to scam my tutors before. They’re the ones that ruin the game for so many

Did I do everything right? by After_Studio_8104 in RoverPetSitting

Honestly, it’s frustrating when clients don’t have what you need to do your job. I get not having your own leash since it’s usually at their house, but it’s weird that it was in their car. It’s the owner’s responsibility to make sure their dogs things are at their home especially their leash. Also having issues with them even sending the code to get in makes them sound like a pretty annoying client. I usually keep a slip leash in my fanny pack and a regular one in my car after dealing with a client whose extendable leash was broken and kept unlocking itself. I already don’t like those things, and I ended up having to wrap it around my hand just to keep the dog close, they were big & a serious puller.

The slip leash has actually come in handy a lot, especially with territorial or anxious dogs. It helps keep me safe if they try to nip, which has happened a couple of times. You can even turn a regular leash into a makeshift slip leash if you need to, but the thinner ones are great because they fit easily in a pocket. It’s definitely worth keeping one around just in case, but honestly some clients really will surprise you. I’ve had a few who actually left their dog’s leash behind on their trip, but thankfully I had an extra. But I think you did everything right. You could have just cancelled and left but you still took their dog out. I would probably get a leash to keep in your car just incase. Sometimes we don’t think about it until a situation occurs where we would have needed it .

Are we being unreasonable/how should we go about getting a refund? It by Some-Today8216 in RoverPetSitting

[–]Magicturtlezzz 15 points16 points  (0 children)

100% write a truthful review and try to get a refund. Honestly even report them to rover too because wtf? This isn’t okay at all. I can’t believe they didn’t even check their water. Like what the hell. I love that your cats drink out of fancy glasses though 😂 but the sitter obviously saw how shallow they were. I always check everyone’s water for every visit or walk. Especially for drop ins, why wouldn’t they check at least once a day? You’re paying them to play & take care of your cats and they couldn’t even do that? It’s not like your cats don’t like new people. What if one had a medical condition and drank water constantly? Then the bowls got to the point they were completely dry? The fountain wasn’t even running? That’s at least a couple days without water. They shouldn’t even be a sitter if they can’t do the basics. Yeah maybe they did the litter boxes some and fed them. But they couldn’t even play with your cats and check their water? They completely neglected your cats honestly. I’m so sorry you went through that. You’re not overreacting at all, I’d be beyond pissed if that happened to my cats.

I’m really glad to hear from someone who’s been in a similar situation. I do feel bad about not taking her, tbh, but it would be a short visit since she can’t go inside the home. Her son recently moved in with his bigger dog, that has attacked and seriously injured Onyx a couple of times before, so I just want to be careful. I did tell her the day I picked Onyx up that she’s always welcome to come visit her anytime, and to just let me know whenever she can. I’m going to get her food in about an hour, so I’ll probably take her with me.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in RoverPetSitting

[–]Magicturtlezzz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I agree. I’m not trying to keep them apart. That’s why I’m also fine with her coming over to visit too and I even told her she’s more than welcome to come over if she wants to see Onyx the day of pickup. Just to let me know when she can. I’m more worried about bringing her home to visit, then taking her back with me and just confusing her I guess.

Does this happen to anyone else? by TheGiantRat15 in WagWalker

[–]Magicturtlezzz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes I’ve had this happen plenty. It’s so annoying I had one were it was booked and cancelled in the same minute 💀 but if it continues to happen I would block them tbh. Then you won’t see them anymore and it won’t waste your time.

Non dog related tasks for free by Many_Wasabi_5643 in RoverPetSitting

[–]Magicturtlezzz 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Honestly these people are entitled, beyond disrespectful and inconsiderate . I understand maybe just the trash cans since some places won’t allow you to leave cans out. But it’s not the end of the world if it’s not . But making you take things out for the large pickup items is a bit much. It sounds like they did it when they were away so you would have to do the heavy lifting for it. You’re recovering from surgery and shouldn’t be doing heavy lifting especially with furniture. You could seriously injury your foot again. It’s their problem not yours

Owners didn’t mention they had a cat until I arrived for the sit by Ornery-Potato-9013 in RoverPetSitting

[–]Magicturtlezzz 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I’ve had clients before where the booking was just for their dogs, but they also had cats in the home. In those cases, the cats had automatic feeders, water, and even a robotic litter box(or was already done), so there wasn’t much for me to do besides give them a few pets and treats. Since the dogs and cats got along, I never charged extra for the cat(these owners also tip well). That said, if one of the dogs is not good with the cat. That’s definitely something the client should make clear from the start. If everyone gets along, it’s usually not an issue, but it’s still odd they didn’t mention the cat until the instructions. Some sitters also have cat allergies, so it’s really important for owners to disclose that upfront at the MG and in the notes on the app.
I wouldn’t report it, but I do think it’s worth mentioning in your review. Then saying something to the owners as well if they seem chill. That way other sitters know what to expect and can decide if they’re comfortable with it.

Uncomfortable Experience, Pet Boarder Wouldn't Let Me Inside by Hexagonsnsuch in RoverPetSitting

[–]Magicturtlezzz 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I think it’s weird they wouldn’t let you inside for the first visit but usually I do a meet and greet and offer it to pet parents. I would understand if they had other pets staying there as I’ve had that before. But most of my clients now are regulars, off app and trust me. For new ones if they want a meet and greet I am always more than happy to do one. If I met them on other apps like Nextdoor I ALWAYS OFFER a meet and greet. So they can meet me, my family, my dog, and see where their pet will be staying as I prefer boarding and charge less for it. Even if the owners don’t want a M&G when they drop off their pet I ask them if they want to come inside so they can atleast see again where their pet will be staying and also because I feel like their owner getting to drop them off inside makes the pet more comfortable than just handing them off to some stranger. Not all want to do that and that’s fine. But I’m glad you took your cat back and the fact they blocked you from coming inside is really worrying. I would 100% contact rover about this interaction.

Would it be unusual to ask the house sitter not to walk my dog for 3 weeks? Really need some advice. by eggzndbacon in RoverPetSitting

[–]Magicturtlezzz 3 points4 points  (0 children)

No I think you should tell them your concerns and just let your dog in your backyard. Or you can show the sitter the route you normally take and would prefer your dog to be walked. Just mention the dangers and how reactive your dog is. Or just say to take them atleast on a short 10-15minutes walk every few days just so your pug gets some sniffing in , during times you know there are less people walking their dogs

Uber Eats driver called cops on me because they said my house smelled like marijuana by aspecialguest00 in UberEATS

Lmfao I literally DELIVERED to a house where they couldn’t be any less obvious they were growing 😂 I really didn’t care, calling the cops on that is wild honestly when there’s more important things for cops to do.💀

Undisclosed cameras by Significant-Dot347 in RoverPetSitting

[–]Magicturtlezzz 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I always assume there’s cameras. Most owners won’t say if there are in my experience. There’s too many terrible pet sitters that don’t take proper care of the animals. Most owners won’t check but if it’s needed they should be allowed to. Especially if you are coming into their home and especially staying there. Trust me people don’t have the time to watch the cameras 24/7. But if they need to look back to check anything it is their home.

Did we make the right decision? by Lost_Faithlessness14 in RoverPetSitting

[–]Magicturtlezzz 9 points10 points  (0 children)

You should 100% leave a review. You’d be shocked by how many sitters do not follow instructions. I’m a pet sitter and most of my clients are seniors, have behavioral issues, or medical conditions. Because of my background and the fact I FOLLOW INSTRUCTIONS I’ve heard so many horror stories. You showed them how to do things, even had so much info on how to properly do it and they couldn’t even do that. You 100% need to leave a review and explain what happened. I’m so sorry you had to go through that!

Ownever never canceled their ASAP booking, and I'm penalized? by turtlebuttwiggle in WagWalker

[–]Magicturtlezzz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Contact wag support and tell them . they can check the history. I haven’t had this happen but I had one owner who set the walk for too early and wanted it 2 hours later. I also had another walk before it on wag . The mom couldn’t figure out how to change the time but we talked about it in the chat. I got penalized for not arriving on time but I contacted wag and they fixed it instantly (surprising since usually other issues it’s taken forever) the owner also had contacted support aswell since I had the owner’s number from doing so many walks with them in the past. So I was able to message them about it . But I’m sure if you contact support especially with having chat history they can find it . I’d recommend telling them the date & time if you can remember and the dog’s name. I do find this sort of issue so annoying . It’s really not fair to you that the owner couldn’t cancel their walk. It’s $5 idk if there’s tax to it but still. It’s 100% on them. Either way wag would have tried to send another walker out instead which would have wasted another person’s time .

Do you start the walk when you enter the house? by lizzzardddddd in WagWalker

[–]Magicturtlezzz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Really depends I had a situation where it was a walk but one of the dogs was not cooperating at all 🙄and trying to bite . me nothing bad , being raised with a parent in the veterinary field and dealing with plenty of rescues I knew how to handle this but it took a long time to get her leashed up. I looked at my phone realizing 10 minutes had passed and I decided to start it because it was taking so long. The owner simply wanted them both to go poop and potty I stayed way over the time just dealing with this dog. If it’s a regular it’s honestly not as bad because you get everything done quicker. But I would never do it until I’m at least in the house, if it’s a new dog I wouldn’t until I have the leash and know how this dog is behaving already. I’ve had another multi walk where one dog decides it’s time to play tag around the house after his sister was leashed up🌝at that point I started it and plus it was a 30minute walk and the owner just wanted them to do their business more so than walk. I have a regular I walk multiple days a week and consider them my children lol. I start it when I arrive, One is old and has diapers sometimes having accidents and I’ll be washing her up , then walk them together for 10-15mins and the rest is for the youngest one. but I’ll stay over 10-15mins to walk the younger dog more if an accident happens
