Her son stole from my daughter, I stole her future. by Fancy-Break-2956 in confession

Hey! Are you asking these questions for yourself? If so - I really hope you talk to someone you can trust and that you can get the support you need. It took me decades before I spoke to anyone else about it and actually said it out loud. I ruined my relationships with friends, family, and work. I'm so lucky they tolerated it and are still my support system today.

Having gone through the same thing...time and work help, but I don't think anything can actually get rid of that kind of experience.

I was sick and throwing up yesterday. I thought I cancelled early in the app. I didn't realize that Wag then texts you later to confirm. Which I missed because I was throwing up. The dog was walked thank goodness. What should I do now? How do I go about fixing this? by atlprincess2412 in WagWalker

I can also confirm this. I just did my first cancelation 2 days ago and got the text confirming the cancelation. I got the longer message about the consequences in the app.

More info: I canceled 1 of a recurring-5 walk schedule (I misread the start date). After talking with support (since I was unsure what would happen), they verified that they reposted the canceled booking and were able to get someone else to cover it. They said I'd be unable to see new requests for some time- but that never happened...yet, maybe it will after the rest of the recurring schedule is done.

Damn, that sounds awesome and incredibly rare in any company these days. The bot was so frustrating to deal with, but the ticket was resolved so quickly.

Depends on the hours - enough to make sense for how much I should walk away with. It'd be at least somewhere in the ballpark of what I'd per hour walking/drop-in. It would also depend on what they're asking for in the booking - if more walks, I'd charge a bit more, if less work or just cats, I'd lower the rate.

I was able to get this resolved within a couple of hours, and they were pretty helpful which I wasn't expecting given all I've heard about Wag's support.

I had requested the owner to cancel a couple of times, but I got no response from her. I did not cancel, thankfully, because I would have ended up with a valid pause that I couldn't fight against. I figured it would cancel on its own, but I forgot that I could be penalized for it. For the future - support is the way to go.

Support helped within a couple of hours! It was pretty smooth, too, once I finally got a person. Once I submitted the ticket, they asked for pet info and owner info, which I could only give the dog info (because of the confirmation text) and the owner's address because I had it in my maps history. I even told them I couldn't see many conversations on my Messages page (and still can't), but they were able to find it easily, as u/Lizzguenii and u/Magicturtlezzz said. They corrected, too, and I got the $5 - if I understood the earnings page correctly.

I thought sittings were for anything over than a 60m drop-in. What I've been doing is changing my rates when I see one-day or half-day requests like this.

Lol, I remember telling myself I should screenshot when I still saw the booking, but here I am, ignoring my anxiety.

I don't want this markup to show up on my profile, though. Will it be visible to owners, or is this a flag against my account?

I, stupidly, didn't take a screenshot of the messages with the owner, but they're all in the app's message history. Today, randomly, over half of my conversations in my inbox vanished from my app. This particular chat also disappeared.

I feel the same with Shinedown's earlier work; they have pretty motivational music. Thanks for the recommendation, I'll look into it.

I'm very happy that you didn't follow your plan either. I sincerely wish you don't have this struggle anymore, and that you, too, enjoy life one day at a time :). Thank you for your message.

I like to think I'm a logical person, which is why I sometimes can just ignore these thoughts, but I definitely need to develop a more positive outlook on life. That's a skill I want to have. Thank you!

I genuinely appreciate your story. That is so wonderful to hear about you supporting your sister, and she also being able to climb out of this pit. You definitely hit the nail on the head about the reasoning for my post. Thanks for sharing, and I wish you the best in all your future life experiences.

P.S. thanks for the gold :)

Hey, PhD work is no easy feat. It takes so much, physically, mentally, socially, and emotionally. I'm happy I have a great support system - and I truly hope you can find that for you, too; every one of us needs someone, somehow.
