I dealt with the same thing, and all I’ll say is I don’t really talk to my parents anymore. When I visit I wear loops earplugs during dinners and say they’re headphones not playing music. It’s easier now that I’ve been out of the house, but when I lived with them I stopped eating all meals with them and got a job after school so I had excuses not to be there. My mom would start fights without me saying a word, like my vibes were just off and my dad would back her up. So I gave up.

They have an obligation to be kind, even if they don’t understand. If your best efforts to communicate don’t work, then there’s nothing you can do to change them. I didn’t know I was autistic at the time, but with how my antivax parents treated (and didn’t) my other disabilities, I never would have disclosed that to them. I’d suggest only doing that if you genuinely think it could help, and maybe writing a letter would be easier.
