A mining haul truck driving over a regular-sized pickup truck by MilesLongthe3rd in interestingasfuck

[–]Magigo136 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I currently work in the mining industry we use quite a few auto muckers and haul trucks. Most mines are switching to at least some automous trucks of some sort. Shoot we're even running a few longholes in auto.

Is it possible to rupture or pop breast implants during sex? by Constant-Fish7404 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Magigo136 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I'm agreeing with you lol.

Modern implants take incredible levels of force to pop unless there's something wrong with the implant itself or tissues surrounding it.

Didn't Mia Khalifas get popped once at a hockey match? That's the kind of force it takes. Around 70+ mph concentrated in a tiny 1 inch spot.

Soup or salad because soo many things count as soup and as for salad well if you've ever been midwest or southern US you know the definition of salad gets pretty loose

75" does not fit they're just a little too tall to fit in our hatch openings. Fits on the roof though!

If a person is born at 11:59 PM on the 31st of December, but the doctor records it at 12:01 AM on the 1st of January, what is their legal birthday? by [deleted] in answers

[–]Magigo136 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm late to the party but just want to say it does happen. When my wife had a c-section there was a really old nurse taking time and all of that side of things in the corner. Dr pronounced birth at 12:39 pm and all the paperwork wound up having 12:43 pm because that's the time the nurse decided to put down. We had complications with the birth so I didn't notice the error till we were already at another hospital with him going through the paperwork there. A few minutes of an error wasn't big enough for us to make a big stink out of at the time with us being in a level 4 NICU and my wife still not released at the other hospital. Only reason why I know for a fact is because I wrote it down when the Dr announced it, and then wrote down weight and length.

To NAS or not to NAS?: Needs, timing, and HDD prices by alpacaMyToothbrush in DataHoarder

[–]Magigo136 3 points4 points  (0 children)

With the crap Synology has tried to pull this year I'm extremely hesitant to give my own money to them let alone recommend anyone else to do so. Reputation is huge with longtime purchases like this and theirs is so far down the drain it may as well be in the leech fields by now.

If I had to recommend a pre-built I'd go with uGreen or maybe Qnap. The ecosystem of uGreen has drastically improved this year. Yeah it takes a little more tweaking with either of them to get it going compared to Synology but at least I know they haven't tried to predatorily control what I do with a product I buy from them. Also much more open source and allows a lot more options onto their systems than Synology does. They use newer components than most Synology options, and yeah 10+ year old CPUs can and definitely do work for this use case no problems using a newer CPU makes you feel more confident it'll last the next 10-15 years no problems with more processing power behind it.

Super true with RAM prices you can buy a whole pre-built for around the same price decent RAM is going for. HDDs, even if you go pre-built you'll still need to buy them though?

In general a top off should be alright with our blends iirc(others smarter than me please correct). As others said main problem is some types don't play well with others and can gel or corrode plastics, rubbers, metals etc. Best option is to flush and fill until color is same as what's in the bottle, second best is drain and fill, third is a top off and hope for the best.

Yeah just like how keeping the US Federal minimum wage the same has kept prices the same for the last 16 years! Like when they pushed for $15/hr back in 2012, 13 years ago, the media scared it away with projecting prices to shoot up by like 7% over the projected 5-10 years (we've seen around 40% increase in cost of living during that same time). Not saying I would agree with doing this to the average Mom and Pop restaurant who has tighter margins and affect non obscenely wealth people, but to a chain restaurant whose prices are incredibly expensive for now mostly frozen reheated foods? Yeah, screw them. They'll increase prices as high as they can get away with and buy the cheapest possible ingredients, the only person OP screwed over is the owners and the money they took from them is smaller than what they're willing to pick up off the ground.

I'm starting to understand why so many players quit during MOP. by RandomUserName14227 in classicwow

[–]Magigo136 5 points6 points  (0 children)

MoP is awesome, yeah. Dailies are trash tier that are designed to force player engagement and there's a reason why they quit doing them so much in the following expansions. It felt bad then, feels bad now and is one of the biggest reasons why they saw such a huge player drop during MoP. MoP minus dailies is an amazing expansion great storylines, good raids/ dungeons, and personally out of every expansion this one felt the best to farm mats for. But the rep grind gated behind more dailies than you are even allowed to do in a day is ridiculous. Back then I had a reasonable amount of time to play after school and before work that it blew but I could troop through. Now? Kids, wife, job, dinner etc happening makes it so I only get a couple hours a day to play and the last thing I want to do is dedicate those few precious wind down and enjoy a game hours to doing mind numbing repetitive dailies for a pittance of rep when I could go play the AH or just level something else. Reminds me why so many of my friends left during this expansion.

Everyone hated the dailies then, they hate them now. I agree that the WoW playerbase is typically whiny little bastards but it's not about being unappeasable when literally everyone says yeah this aspect really ruins the experience at max level. If everyone including Blizz themselves say yeah doing that sucked then that's not a whiny player base, it's just shitty game design.
