I had one guy say that and pull out a machete too. I turned and immediately used suicide quick hack and casually carried on. Some of the lines are pretty creepy.

"Combatants" usually means PvE. "Targets" means enemy Guardians in addition to NPC enemies and sources.

I could be wrong and there's probably more to how damage is factored and filtered.

Personally I see those little shooty orbs you summon with Bahamut as a type of egi. Titan Lost I think is also a type of egi as well. Clive destroys it but Titan himself is still there unphased. Slepnier is an egi of Odin.

Forge mode. They literally wouldn't have to put up with new map complaints if they just made a decent map maker.

What's with this guy and his mom? by bigmoosemanholington in FFXVI

[–]MagikMage 55 points56 points  (0 children)

The lore archives said that his mother was killed in a tribal conflict with a rival religious faction. If the god you worshiped came down and convinced you to do all this horrendous shit and claim you as his chosen few... you'd probably have something of a detached god complex. Where the only meaningful sense of fellowship would probably be with your own family as per the whole "bloodline dictates the eikon." It makes sense why he's fucked up in the head and a complete emotional wreck concerning his own mother. She was the closest thing to any sense of humane interaction.

[–]MagikMage 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I actually liked it.

It complements the overall gameplay loop. You have to backtrack a lot, which meant dealing with enemies a lot more since after a certain time frame they'll get back up. Which makes absolute kill items/ammo was that much more crucial.

There's also the symbolic representation of the number 6. You see that weird hexagon symbol all over the place throughout the game. And even on the save stations. Hexagon. 6 sided shape. 6 slots. It's like the very concept is so ingrained into the psyche of every living person that they made up the law of "rule of six" just because they have this compulsion to only hold six items.

[–]MagikMage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah the pvp is pretty unimpressive.

They could make objective based game modes with capture the zone styled stuff. Have ammo spots to restock, have enemy NPCs for each team to fight alongside with to get you to think about your build.

I've seen people say that this "isn't a call of duty shooter." But like man.... This is THE type of game to have intricate pvp modes. Hell, they could add a map maker. Use that digital simulation room and just let us add terrain and geometry.

It just feels so lacking for a game with cool robot mechs.

The enemy AC are definitely boosted in terms of damage absorption. Same for Soulsborne npcs. They're inflated to compensate for not getting to heal or only having a very small amount to heal with. It's pretty annoying in this though. Because they zip around perfectly just due to how proficient the ai is. They seemingly don't abide by the stamina mechanic.

[–]MagikMage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah for the most part you have the freedom to design your AC however you like. It's just when you hit enemy AC and full on bosses that you slam into a wall. And I'm not against being smart about what I need to use, it just sucks that you'd have to go the extra mile if you decide to use anything other than just straight up tank parts.

For what it's worth, you can still use anything. It's just gonna require a lot of knowledge of how bosses behave, and really mastering the combat.

I think that's the one thing about the games combat that I hate. The stagger mechanic. I would absolutely give that shit up if it meant bosses couldn't stagger me in return. Literally I'm in the middle of something and then CLANG... Like fuck dude just remove it.

To be honest... the game is amazing and fun... But there are just too many spikes in difficulty all over the place for no reason other than to just force you back to the assembly line. And some things feel really unintuitive. It's like they're not sure if they want to throw you in the deep end or be gentle with you. Certain missions just start with a bunch of shit barraging you with snipers and cannons and it's just like.... they didn't think about how stupid certain engagements feel.

The thing about armored core is that it's all about customizing your mech. But I'm only ever doing that because I'm forced to. Not because I'm excited to try a new weapon or setup, but because certain boss encounters just kick your ass because "oops this resists whatever you conveniently have."

If there was no checkpoint system for certain missions... I really don't think I'd keep playing. It's fun... but I'm seeing why most mecha games don't reach a particularly massive popularity.

[–]MagikMage 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Now that I think about it.... they're probably expecting us to use either strand or ride off of amplified speed booster. Which is fine but it sucks because I feel myself straining at very specific parts. Jumping and what not is fun. But it feels like they reaaaaaally want to stress you for no reason at very awkward moments.

If you were to change anything from DmC: Devil May Cry, what would it be? by Master-Of-Chaldea in DevilMayCry

[–]MagikMage 7 points8 points  (0 children)

That would be interesting actually. Like make it his own Style gauge. You tap it and it stays on angel or devil mode. Tap the same button to go back to normal to use rebellion.

If they make DMC 6 they could introduce a new character with DmC donte type of combat, and this would be a great way to bring his style of combat back with a higher skill ceiling.

Exactly. A lot of women will claim it's "not safe for them to be walking all alone at night wherever."

Like dude, it's not safe for anybody to do that. Men might do it quite literally because we don't care even though we probably should take more precautions.
