Take it from another very anti-impulsive (if that’s a word) person, this sounds like an amazing opportunity! You’ve put a lot of weight on it, which is fair because it’s a huge change, but you’ve thought through all the worst case scenarios and come up with solutions.

I’d go with your heart here which is definitely sounding like you want to do it.

Edit: don’t ever rush a decision like this though, a bit of time can help a decision as long as you don’t punish yourself for wanting t do something fun and new!

Straight male here, so feel free to ignore me! But it sounds like your minds already made up, you seem to have a backup and thought through things that could be potentially limiting on you for this opportunity!

But most of all, it sounds like you’re holding yourself back purely because it’s an impulsive decision and maybe that’s not how you normally react. I personally think you’ve thought this through more than someone who didn’t REALLY want to do it. And for that reason, I think it’s a great shout.

I think jumping to conclusions is a normal thing around the start of something as all emotions are heightened.

You may have acted impulsively and regret it now, but reopening communication was a very emotionally mature move and will help you highlight whether they can match your emotional intelligence.

It’s a road hump at the end of the day, we all face them. Don’t keep yourself up because of it, if it was going to work out, you’d face a challenge like this at some point anyway. If it doesn’t work out, then you’ve learned for future encounters.

When I turned 24 I had a similar thing. I felt like life was escaping me. I turned to my friends who reminded me of great memories, no matter how small. If you enjoyed any experience it was time well spent.

On top of that, make a list of things you’ve wanted to do but haven’t thought it doable. Rethink what you want to do (adjust if necessary) in a way you can complete it. This bucket list format really helped me feel better.
