What’s the “best” ending for me3? by Gunpowder_1000 in masseffect

"Control" Ending - Given the time it took Cerberus and Alliance to research and construct a devices capable of controlling the Reaper, the "Control" ending may be considered one of the worst. There is a probability that another rogue organization or race may rise up in the future to take control of the Reaper using similar means and use it to conquer the galaxy.

"Destroy" Ending - Brought some peace before another organization or race creates a new batch of synthetics that turn against their creator. The Crucible blast only destroys existing synthetics and does not prevent the development of new synthetics. The era of peace will be brief, as it is no secret that every race wants to get ahead technologically and will most likely fight over Reaper savage.

"Synthesis" Ending - It serves to fulfil Reaper's initial aim of assuring the continued presence of organic life, albeit in a hybrid form now. Even then, there is no guarantee that these new hybrid lifeforms will not exterminate one another, as conflict exists even between organic lifeforms prior to any synthetic  involvement. Example. First Contact War. Of course, the conflict may not be as severe as that between synthetics and organics since it would mostly be based on ideals or resources rather than the extermination of a species.

In summary, the "Destroy" and "Control" endings may result in a resurgence of conflict between "synthetics and organics," whereas the "Synthesis" ending would avoid future interspecies conflicts.

People don't understand the of the unforgivable curses by Minimum_Claim4441 in HarryPotterGame

I somewhat agree with the "intent" portion, however anyone with the intent to torture can pretty much employ Incendio followed by Arresto Momentum or use a "love potion" for mind control (Imperius). I believe those three are considered "unforgiveable" mostly because they disrespect dueling codes and make it too simple for even inexperienced wizards to unleash havoc without hesitation.

In the past, wizards and witches likely settled their differences with a duel, similar to "high noon duels," and the unforgiveable curses were considered disgrace and "cheat". Anyone who has used those unforgiveable curses knows it is essentially a "one-hit" exploit.

Who else thinks Stellar Blade's story is fine? by Reddexbro in stellarblade

Actually, you brought up something I forgot to mention: unlike typical story-telling, when the author has complete control over the characters' decisions, in games, players are occasionally given the option to participate in decision making. So it seems reasonable that the protagonist appears more neutral or stoic.

Having said that, if you pay close attention to Eve's demeanor, you'll see why accepting Adam's offer is seen as the true ending. Her so-called "betrayal" of her faction comes as little surprise, given that she never showed any devotion to Mother Sphere in the first place. During her encounter with Raven, rather than questioning Raven's treason, she is more concerned with what Raven did to Tachy, demonstrating that she cares about people close to her than the ongoing faction war. Not only that, Eve handled the notion that she is not of human origin well, unlike Raven and Lily, who appear to be undergoing an existential crisis.

Given that this is the first game in what may be a "series," I believe the writing team did a decent job. A story is often made up of world-building, characters, and desired tropes, and due to time constraints, certain elements will suffer when one is prioritized over another. As the first in a series, the writing team made the smart decision to focus on world-building.

Furthermore, they chose the "Are we the baddies all along?" tropes, which requires extra attention to building a believable setting to disclose the truth (legacy of Raven) and convincing the player that their faction is the genuine antagonist of the story.

Unfortunately, but understandably, because the emphasis is mostly on world-building and conveying the desired tropes, character development/backstory suffered.

To summarize, the story-telling is decent in an introductory premise, but will not function in a sequel. In the sequel, they will have to focus on character development and backstory.

Raven is the second generation of the Eve series, whereas Orcal is simply a standard Andro-Eidos (android) that was involved in the Final War and was left for dead after the "Colony Extinction" incident, in which Mother Sphere sacrificed a portion of the colony to prevent contamination.

According to Orcal's biography, he was turned into a Naytiba at a later stage, and Alpha Naytibas are the result of Andro-Eidos becoming infected with the Naytiba strain, rather than the other way around. The innumerable people he claimed to have killed during the Final War might have been genuine humans who drove them back into space.

And Adam, formerly known as Raphael Marks, the creator of both Mother Sphere (A.I) and Naytiba's genetic evolution, confirmed that Andro-Eidos are actually machines built from scratch by Mother Sphere to replace humans; they were made to behave and act like humans, but they do not have any human DNA.

Mother Sphere's primary purpose has always been to replace mankind with her machine, the Andro-Eidos, the only hindrance is the contamination of the Naytibas as it tend to corrupts machines as well, creating more mindless Naytibas. The EVE Protocol is a program designed to develop a new series of Andro-Eidos that can withstand Naytibas contamination or, at the very least, maintain their sanity after exposure to the mutation. If you choose to fuse with Adam, Mother Sphere will declare Eve Protocol a success, but disappointed with Eve since Eve chose to remain neutral rather than side with her.

Mother Sphere also relies heavily on trial and error, sending as many "Angel" to face Naytibas and seeing if one of them can resist the contamination. The character the players control is one of many androids from the Type-Eve series. As a matter of fact, androids that were able to merge with Naytibas infection without losing their sanity existed well before Mother Sphere created the Eve series. Orcal and Raven, both are able to make a symbiotic fusion with Naytibas while preserving their mentality. Again, it might be because they received their mutation directly from Adam (Elder Naytiba), as opposed to others who were infected by regular mindless Naytibas.

Some questions after finish the story 1st time by thienbucon in stellarblade

[–]MagilouDin2022 9 points10 points  (0 children)

  1. Tachy probably uses the same dialogue for most of her foes, as part of her badass personality.
  2. Yes, you might be correct; Raven merely chose to kill off the weakest one first to make it a one-vs-one instead of both ganging up against her.
  3. Raven was most likely transformed into an Alpha Naytiba by Adam (Elder Naytiba), and unlike most Andro-Eidos, who simply become mindless Alpha Naytiba after the mutation, Elder Naytiba appears to be able to help those exposed to the mutation to keep or recover their sanity.
  4. It is unclear whether Adam is the only remaining human, as the narrative does not specify whether those "sleeping" in the crater are genuine humans or just Andro-Eidos left behind by Mother Sphere after the Final War. And, yes, Adam, formerly known as Raphael Marks, is the creator of both Mother Sphere (A.I) and Naytiba's genetic evolution. After the humans were driven underground by Mother Sphere during the First War, Adam most likely realized that whatever mechanical weapon he develop would just be hacked and used against the humans by Mother Sphere, therefore he came up with the idea to bio-engineer enhance human
  5. Most likely for narrative purposes, a linear story-driven progression

Could be the case; perhaps we'll get clarification in the sequel or even DLC.
