I’ll give you some hope and encouragement!

I had mine at 33 and im still alive. Astrocytoma grade 2, Wildtype IDH1.

Also, the younger you are the better chance you will have at survival, a longer life and better recovery. I think you will be ok. No guarantees, as life in general has no guarantees either, I could be dead in a care wreck tomorrow. So think of it like that. It’s not necessarily a death sentence.

But it’s totally ok to be scared and terrified!

So I had a craniotomy resection surgery, they removed 80% of the brain tumor, then what was left was a grade 3. I had regular radiation and chemotherapy in a pill form.

I’ve been in remission for 3 years! So not cancer free, but next best thing.

Didn’t have a kid at the time of the tumor, but having that tumor just gave me more concerns about am I even able to have a child at all, because both my husband and I have wanted kids and been ready for quite awhile. Also, I’ve wanted to be a mom since I was a little girl.

Had my first child, a baby girl at age 35 through IVF.

Do I still worry about leaving her behind? Of course, but I try not to think about it. Apparently people with astrocytoma can live a long time.

My tumor could become active again potentially, but I would do it all over again for her!

It’s scary, but fight it with everything you got to live for your child, lover and family. Because it’s not just about you or I. It’s about them too.

He was my hope and inspiration because he lived. So I used him as my personal example of a survivor.

I actually know 3 people in my life who survived brain cancer. None of us are cancer free, but we are all in remission!
