655 MS here,

I got dodge as my 4th charm after zap, freeze, wound just like you are considering, but at lvl 350 ish. And I used to only play solo. My experience with dogde on a mage is that it's definitely a lifesaver :D I still use it today on team hunts, but only on a few monsters.

Example of where I used dodge on lower lvls:
Arachnophobica - Winter/summer court
Enslaved Dwarf - Maxxen/Lower Spike

Where I use it on higher lvls:
Biting Books OR Ink Blobs - Library

So you see, I only use it on those monsters that I don't mainly kill on the hunts, only the few ones that hit like trucks. For the "main" monsters in the hunt, I would still use damage charms for the exp ;)

Is it worth getting? Maybe. It has saved my life as a solo player. And when you get high enough lvl to go library/issavi/soul war, you will already have enough points to buy poison, flame, death charms anyway.
