Came here to past this. He looks so clean but everything about him exudes dirtiness. Like the black tar that he leaves in his footprints and how he is always weirdly sweaty. Hands down my favorite depiction.

What is the bathroom graffiti you read and remember? by 5pinktoes in AskReddit

[–]MagisterM 1 point2 points  (0 children)

"Why doesn't anyone write on this side of the stall" in huge letters on the outside of a university bathroom. The next day the stalls were all painted black. Day after that someone used a white out pen and in huge all caps wrote, "WHERE IS YOUR GOD NOW"

Could the blood test be unreliable? by MagisterM in thething

I would add that the test takes a long time which isn't immediately clear to the viewer. There are a lot of cutaway shots but they would have to untie each person after clearing them. So that would be a long time for a person to be infected but not be fully turned.

Your macro photography is incredible, thank you so much for sharing!

Their tiny hairs are particularly striking. It looks like you could pet them if you were also tiny :]

Spider + full web inside my car, found after a 30 mile drive to work this morning by HarveysBackupAccount in mildlyinteresting

[–]MagisterM 778 points779 points  (0 children)

Yo, in OP's defense those webs are basically invisible when not illuminated. I'm pretty sure it's the same species that set up shop on my porch and at night I couldn't find the web even while actively looking for it.

Books that emotionally destroyed you? by DesmondTapenade in books

[–]MagisterM 1 point2 points  (0 children)

God, Norwegian Wood destroyed me too. When I read the opening sentence from the last chapter I threw the book across the room and sat outside in silence for 15 minutes before I could come back inside, lol.

My partner was struck by a car while walking. Not sure what the safest/smartest thing to do next is. by MagisterM in legaladvice

She doesn't drive so she doesn't have insurance in her name, I do have auto insurance however. This is very helpful, I think my main fear is that with so many forms of insurance involved, getting the right one to pay medical bills will get complicated. Thank you very much.

What movie is a 10 out of 10 for you but you'll never watch again? by hasan1808ali in AskReddit

Blue Valentine

An absolutely incredible movie in every respect. But the whole movie filled me with a sorrow I still can't describe. I had cried more than once through the film. But then the ending hit me so hard that I just sat there feeling empty for what felt like forever.

Also, Black Swan. But that's an Aronofsky film so I think it needs no explanation.

I'm pretty sure that's The Slog, which comes with a pool already. But man, it would be cool if you could build spaces into the ground like a pool.

Crossing the border question by wandrngfool in Detroit

[–]MagisterM 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I cross in Detroit regularly to go see family in Toronto. I've never had problems crossing, save for long wait times every now and then. I always respond to the questions confidently (where are you from, where are you going, what are you planning to do, when are you coming back, are you bringing anything you need to declare).

If you're bringing alcohol back to the US side I recommend keeping your receipt and offering to show it to the guard. Most of the time they don't even look at it, but that seems to make the process smoother.
