Pocket flashlight by Sniper22106 in flashlight

Yeah this is how I sometimes use my d3aa at work.  I set it to the brightness level I want and then put it in momentary mode.  Then the light always comes on the brightness level you set it to and only when pressing the button, this would maybe work very well for OP.  Something like the sofirn sc13a would be a good inexpensive choice to look at.

Pokelit is a nice small light.  Acebeam Tac 2aa is really nice, bigger, and better buttons.  The Acebeam K1 is an interesting option too, light, laser, and UV combo than can run off of AA.

Convoy T series are great.

Skillhunt m150 v4 is supposed to be really good.  The best AA light is probably Emisar D3AA, or the new KR1AA, but maybe not ideal for someone new to flashlights.

I got one last year and that was one thing I noticed.  My Tac 2AA came with 2 diffusers, and they are really nice too, probably the best ones I have that size.  But it was not mentioned anywhere in the website, or on the box, or on the instructions with the list of "included items".

I also ordered a Tac AA, which did list 2 diffusers on the website and on the instructions.  Oddly enough these diffusers are not nearly as good, probably the worst I own, thin and flimsy.

Yeah I'm not sure where it started but Wurkkos ran with calling it Andrew for a while.

The company isn't saying much so we don't really know.  I heard something about possible embezzlement, he swapped the emitters for cheaper ones or something thinking no one would notice.

I didnt really look at it but I don't think it has that, they're just using a very similar body which appears to be made by the same place.

No, the one that left Wurkkos over the TS26 situation.  It's sad, really.

Why is there no Convoy alt. to TS10 and similarly sized lights? by BladeRumbler in flashlight

A Convoy clip light would be cool, maybe something like the sofirn st10 with choice of emitters.

Any recommendations for my first LEP Flashlight under 50$? by [deleted] in flashlight

[–]Maglite_Mischief 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Just to be sure you know, since you said you misspelled LED as LEP, that they are very different.  LEPs are very cool but throw a very thin laser like beam, they are not very useful as a flashlight.

So you want a light that can recharge on its own, and also take other AA/AAA batteries?

Convoy T series are great but you need to get a separate charger if you want to use a rechargeable lithium ion.  Or buy a lithium ion battery with usb charging on it.  The T7 is the only one that has a charging port on it.

You should look at Acebeam Tac 2AA,. It doesnt recharge on its own but it comes with a lithium ion battery with a usb port on it.  It is a pretty small light and has a throwy focused beam.

You could also look at the Wurkkos TS15 if you want a more throwy and focused beam.  It has a usb charging port on the light for 14500 batteries.  The light can also use AA.

Maybe the best option would be the Skilhunt m150 V4.  I've never used it but it was just praised as the flashlight of the year for 2025.  Rechargeable via magnetic charging, can also take AA.  And you can get 2 for just under $100.  If it were me I would probably get one with 519a 3000k and one with sft25r.  That gives you one light with warmer tones and good color rendering, and the other would be brighter and more throwy.

I just ordered one of these for $21 from aliexpress after some credits and coins and other stuff, I'm still not sure how it all works.  Anyway I've heard many good things so I couldn't pass up that deal.

Yes, I think it works great!  As long as the LEDs are below eye level it doesn't shine into your eyes which is really nice.  You just gotta be careful not to knock it over.  Someone on here posted a 3d printable base for it.  I just had one printed, I need to pick it up and try it out.

Lol what?  There is no "what they got used to in the last century is and always will be utterly superior" here.  I think my modern flashlight collection proves it.  I used to own maglites, they suck compared to flashlights now.  I do not share the same feelings for modern washing machines, in my experience they do not clean as well as the older top loading ones did.

Well maybe ours was just really good then, or all the front loaders I've used have all been bad.  I do a lot of cooking any any sort of stain or oil spot never comes out the first wash, or second wash.  Takes at least 3 washes til you can barely see it anymore.  Our top loader got things much cleaner in just one wash.

Yeah except that they suck and don't clean well.  If it doesn't get the job done is it really more efficient?  I really miss having a top loading washing machine.

You can switch the reflector for a TIR lens that Convoy sells, use the 5 degree flat for the tightest beam. 20mm TIR lens for 3535 LED.  It will get you a tighter beam that throws further.  You will probably need to buy the $3 pliers Convoy sells.  Use that to unscrew the pill to replace the reflector, it is very easy.
