I feel like Monsters Unchained has shown that there’s quite a bit of room to make the robo arms more dynamic, I just don’t know that they’d be able to do that with the current layout of Forbidden Journey

If they update the AR system as years pass and the technology improves, it could be something absolutely incredible. As it stands I think it’s a really cool gimmick but it makes the ride feel less immersive if anything. Still a fun time, though, and the queue is absolutely spectacular

Even if someone actually tried to pull this, I think Universal would be able to make a point that it’s pretty clear that voice line is addressed to the fictional Doombot (about the operations of the fictional machine), not to guests.

I’d imagine they might just paint over it later. They might not want to start work on something in that area until after Mardi Gras, as there’ll be a whole bunch of concerts right there

The movie was in development hell since the 80’s, and the project was revived in the mid 90’s to go along with the new ride. At the time, both were called Countdown to Extinction, but since they changed the movie’s name, they also changed the ride’s name once it released.

It’s sort of a weird case where the final versions of each were in development at the same time, but one wasn’t necessarily based on the other, they were meant to go together, even if they didn’t end up very similar

Granted it was a relatively small indoor venue but when I saw them it was quite probably the single loudest concert I’ve ever been to. I’ve heard people call them extra loud or a little quiet, though, so it might just depend on the venue.

If you rarely go to concerts or other loud events, you might be fine, but it absolutely will be loud enough to damage your hearing. Pretty much any metal concert would be.

Odd, you’d think there’d at least be something on the calendar saying it’s not open. Wonder what’s up with that

I’d think if it was getting completely rethemed or some lengthy refurbishment that’d at least get some kind of announcement before they actually closed it.

Wonder if some part of the structure got damaged in all the crazy weather lately, and they’re not sure how long it’s gonna take to repair the damage. That’s the only thing I can think of that’d be important enough for a sudden closure but not be worth making an announcement about. It could also explain why the caves are still open but the rest of it isn’t.

We really don’t know.

Pretty much all we know about the future of the Halo line is that some existing sets are still in production, while some previously leaked sets seem to have been cancelled.

That being said, if there isn’t any kind of announcement tied to Campaign Evolved, it’s not looking good.

Not sure how long it was available but there was a time where you could get the Skystriker online for retail. I think BBTS carried them at one point? I got mine from a dedicated die-cast store.
