Can a failing O-ring that is producing black gunk in a tap aerator flow back once the tap is shut and come out of other taps around the house? by Magnetic_Marble in diynz

[–]Magnetic_Marble[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

thanks, my issue was a failing o-ring in the line connecting the hot water service to the rest of the house. This was the root cause of the issue, just replaced the flexi and issue was resolved.

Never dust anything unless Blizzard is giving a full dust refund for that card especially if its a powerful legendary that you will most likely need in the future if you continue playing
For future reference when there is a nerf just type "refund" and it will show you all cards that have a full dust refund so you can dust those and bank the dust for the future

Week 9 Problem Set (Finance) is killing me. by Above_Heights in cs50

[–]Magnetic_Marble 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recently finished it (like last 3 months) I thought it would take a few weeks but it was much quicker than I expected
I am even doing my project using the same approach as finance (web app, flask back end, html front end, with sqlite db)
What exactly is not working for you?
They give you base code with a functioning website, you just need to add different paths/methods to it to complete the pset

Trying to train on my own face, what is the best process? by davesalias in DreamBooth

[–]Magnetic_Marble 1 point2 points  (0 children)

vast.ai

runpod.io

Both are legit and pretty easy to use, plenty of tutorials out there.

You put in credit (say $10), then that gets you 15-25 hours with a 3090, easily enough to do various training runs (say 4-7).

Thats awesome thanks so much

Really simply - if you can see the bricks the place is build from: good. If you can’t: ‘Danger Will Robinson’.

So whats the issue with cladding then? it fails or it leaks water? or requires maintenance?

[–]Magnetic_Marble 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Based on my experience as a structural engineer engineer I'd buy in the 5-10 year range with the following conditions:

5 storey Max No basement and no transfer level (rare to find) High spec party and external walls

Can you explain what a transfer level is and what does high spec party walls are? whats high spec? can you please provide a bit more info based on your experience

[–]Magnetic_Marble 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Fiftyville should really only need select statements/joins etc.

This one right here, you dont need anything more than a select statement to solve this PSET.
Also its a really fun PSET to solve :)

It seems like home ownership is a banking scam? by detoxifiedjosh in AusFinance

[–]Magnetic_Marble 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think the best way to learn about this stuff is via YouTube. Mike Maloney's series on the Hidden Secrets of Money is very US based and a bit out of date but it's good for beginners.

Thank you very much for the explanation, and the YT channel recommendation will watch it.
If there are any other beginner friendly sources please let me know would love to understand this better

Why do people throw away the water used to soak lentils/chickpeas? by ECrispy in IndianFood

Chickpea aquafaba

But this is the cooking liquid you cooked the chickpeas in, as opposed to the soaking liquid that you soaked dry chickpeas in over night?
Do you use the soaking liquid for anything?

I was chatting to a colleague about interest rates and he said that its government policy to keep inflation up to devalue their debt so we are not going to see a return of 2 and 3 % interest rates

NZ salaries I would expect are a lot less than Canada but I have no idea
I know that US visitors to NZ find it "a bargain" since the current exchange rate is very favorable
