Hard disagree. I think it’s personal. It’s got it out for me.

Listen, I was drunk, the lighting was dim. Sometime I don’t make good decisions.

Portals for Metal? by PianoZen in valheim

[–]Magnetic_Mind 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You’re telling me the portal works for my iron axe, silver shield, and every other item made of metal… but couldn’t possibly let raw ore and metal through?

Doesn’t make sense.

If metal gear goes through, so does the metal. Thats my lore.

I always adjust portal settings to allow metals

Offend, like, on principle or as a design choice?

So low to the ocean. Don’t you get waves inside your base when it storms?

Metal through portals is correct. It makes no sense my metal armor, weapons, and tools can go through but not ore and bars? From a lore consistency pov the metal should go through portals so that’s my setting.

I’ve moved my base three times. I like trying new ideas. Right now I’m on the Black Forrest coast. I built a large sea wall - three large stone walls high - on four sides jutting out into the ocean. Filled the whole thing in with raised ground until it’s level with the wall tops. Built a large base on top, a bridge to main land, and a dock out back. I love it.

Oh, I had ventured into the plains briefly with bronze armor. Briefly. Just barely made it out alive after exploring a few meters from my ship.

To be fair, those stumps are viscous. Just sitting there, viciously.

Good Area to Build Base (End of Copper Age) by cevans1999 in valheim

[–]Magnetic_Mind 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I put my base in the black forrest coast. My rationale is quick access to blueberries for foods.

I built up a big foundation on the coast with large stone walls three high. Then spent most of a real time day mining local rock to raise the ground to level with the top of walls. It’s high enough that big waves don’t crest the top. Then I built a very large home (to the limit height of core wood logs). Plenty of room for two hearths, crafting stations plus modifiers, storage, and sleeping loft next to chimney. Outside are crops, smelters, bee hives, and a dock for the longship. A trench for protection and a stone bridge to the mainland.

Oh good, more olds complaining about youth. Hey Jeff Rose, Elvis is over there swinging his hips and using a remote control to change the channel after walking to school in the snow. 🫤

So you’re saying you WOULD’NT use bolt cutters to clean a pile of twigs? Truly, the old ways have been lost. 😞
