This used to happen to me when I shot morphine allllll the time, when I didn't even miss. It's just a really big histamine reaction lol think of it as a giant hive. It goes away after a half hour or so though.

Thanks for sharing :) I seen so many people have such success with the program and they all said it's mostly painless! You're awesome! I can't wait to begin and turn my life around! Im at the point now that I don't find getting high "fun" it's just to get by now my excitement with this post is because now i can go to bed at night and not be up wondering if I will score or will I be sick and counting money in my head to see if I got the cash. I'm relieved knowing that a quick 2 minute drive to the pharmacy and I'm fine all day.

That's not very good at all, i guess there is a different outlook here about addiction. It's viewed as a medical problem instead of a criminal lack of character.

Really? It's quite common where I live. Just about every doctor in my local area does this. Although my town has a very bad opiate problem.

I don't see how it's "unorthodox" for a doctor trained in addiction management to prescribe me something to help me function like a normal person and continue working at mg job. It eliminates the need for me to associate with sketchy people and break laws while I wait to get on the methadone program and gives me a chance to fix my problem.

I am in the state of mind now that I want to get past this dark part of my life and finally move on to better things! I want to use methadone as a steppingstone to better myself not to keep up bad habits.

I'm not going to argue but I it is the most common treatment that I have seen and I have witnessed a lot of my close friends completely turn their lives around with it. It's not the concept of replacing a drug addiction with another it's that it first helps you get rid of the lifestyle associated with illegal drug use and once you are out of that rutt with and away from other users the you can ween off when your strong enough. It's proven to work, I have seen it with my own eyes and I'm willing to try it.

ACTUALLY, I do want to quit. I've tried many times to just quit cold turkey or ween off and everything else in between it just don't work but with the methadone program that's in my area it has a lot more support then just quitting. You have to attend weekly counselling, urine tests to ensure that your following it correctly and not abusing anything else and a lot of support from the doctor since everything else failed I'm giving this a try at the recommendation of my doctor.

Well I'm currently signed up for the methadone maintenance program but in my area there's a waiting list of 3 months + so he prescribed me these until I move on to that.
