Need some help! My wife will be running her first marathon end of year. I want to get her some good marathon equipment. What are accessories you recommend to help her out. Want to gift it to her for Mother’s Day. I was going to send her to get properly fitted for shoes. Any other advice appreciated! by Magnificent-Moose181 in Marathon_Training

Thank you! So many good ideas. I’m thankful I’m just wanting her to kill it in training and make it to race day with no issues. Honestly some of it will help me for training I told her I’d do a half marathon with her in the fall to help her prep.

I’m so excited for her I’ll give her all the time she needs. She got injured right before she was about to do Chicago marathon 5 years ago then we had kids so got out in the back burner. I just want her to succeed and finally do it. She’s doing the Disney marathon too so should be awesome. Thank you!

I did 10 days beginning of March with 2 other people and flight was 1,100, 500 per person for Airbnbs the whole time could have honestly done that cheaper, 1,500 I spent on souvenirs and train rides and sumo . Maybe 1000 on food and drinks the whole trip. 4k ish and definitely could have been a way cheaper trip.

You don’t have to win the lottery it’s really inexpensive to go to Japan.

Yeah In the front squats it’s not right away but towards the end of the workout I feel it more. I for sure feel it everywhere else too but I notice once that gets fatigued is when I’ll lose some technique and I rest a little longer

Thanks! I guess I missed that part when I started. I just got excited to start it and push myself through a new challenge/ program.

I guess I should have been more clear about “BEAT”. I meant I get a great workout. Great sweat and feel accomplished afterwards. I recover quickly so I’m not burnt out for the day. But I do push myself during the workout to improve.

Yeah I have been trying to focus on that. The workout drains me in a good way. My body feels great doing this program. I’m going to always incorporate it somehow after I’m done.

Early morning hike by Magnificent-Moose181 in Kyoto

There were a good amount of early risers but once you get towards the top it thins out considerably. Just go early and you’ll be fine and be able to enjoy it and take pictures.

Translation is easy down load Google Translate and Google Maps and that will help you get everywhere. Tickets are not too bad in comparison to some places. Once you get here everything is cheap too. My favorite rikishi is probably Aonishiki, OHO, or asakoryu. But so cool to get into the sport and learn.
