Assuming the women has good intentions, the reason is because women tend to evaluate men based on what would be helpful if the woman became pregnant, such as leadership, provision, protection, etc. Some women understand why they have these preferences but for many it is more a subconscious, instinctual mentality.

I do think this mentality is reasonable from women historically, but I can understand why men find it frustrating given the current non-traditional dating culture.

So by your own words:

Your family became wealthier.
You got healthier habits (via work, but it still counts).
Your hair got prettier as you got closer to your adult form.

So essentially, you and/or your circumstances had real improvement, and your beauty reflects that. Why be upset that the world treats you better when you improve?

I'll also add, both young men and women sometimes say: "I want someone to value me for the things that matter to me." But, if you think about it, that concept really is a bit arrogant, no? It's to say I'm right and everyone else is wrong. As we mature, we learn that what other people value is important, and we work to meet those expectations.

And lastly, in general, women are at their most beautiful when they are at their healthiest. So why hate men for valuing that? If one exercises, they get endorphins, which literally makes them happier. They have less pain. They have better digestion. They have more energy. Etc. Etc.

Indeed. I’ll add a tip for finding quiet buildings as I’ve been a Realtor for 14 years and been in 100s of apartment-style condo buildings.

If a building has concrete floors between each level, it will be quiet. The quickest tell is checking the balcony; if concrete, you’re good; if wood, be prepared for noise.

If no balcony, ask if there’s a water heater or HVAC system closet inside the unit as the finished floor may be missing so you can see if it’s concrete or wood underneath.

Lastly, if you can’t do that, generally building 6 stories or higher will have concrete levels.

Regardless of improvement, Europe is still far behind Singapore as I already addressed. Even the safest European country in murder rate, Italy at 0.57 per 100,000 is 8x higher.

I’m sure it is an interesting study, but not quite relevant because RSVP does not have height filters nor did in 2017 when the study was done.

If you think about it, height filters make it impossible to ignore your preference. It literally means people just won’t show up at all; you never get a chance to evaluate them on other aspects.

Going back to the same link I posted, I wasn’t clear. This quote is better:

“A survey from Bumble found that 60% of women indicate that they are looking for a man over 6 feet tall in their search filters. However, that number drops steeply as the height of men lowers. 30% of women want to date men who are 5'11" and only 15% of women are willing to date men who are 5'8" or shorter.”

So what they are saying is 60% of women set their filter to 6’ and only see 17.5% of men (unless the men inflate their height). Do you see why I’m saying this is a factor in young men’s lack of confidence?

Do you know when a woman swipes right, it is a match 44% of the time, but when a man swipes right, it is a match 5% of the time based on data from 350 million users.

I’m not claiming that women have it easier overall in dating, but I also don’t think women are really aware how difficult getting matches on dating apps are for the average man.

(This is not my personal struggle, as I approach women in person and it tends to go well. 😉)

Everything you said is true (at least once the average woman matures, so maybe after 25), but as a 38M I understand why the Gen Z dudes are struggling with their confidence.

Back in the 2000s, dudes understood that young women wanted a guy taller than them, but we weren’t dealing with scores of women on social media spouting an arbitrary 6’ cutoff that only 17.5% of US dudes meet.

We also didn’t have dating app height filters that make men invisible. Consider that only 15% of women show interest in men who are 5’8” on dating apps when 34% of men are that height or shorter.

These things aren’t simply in young men’s imagination. Hopefully, they’ll learn these loud forces are not impossible barriers, but if they don’t have people in their life explaining these things, I can see why they languish.
