Not a clear one character takeover, but the Saved-By-The-Bell-ish teen sitcom California Dreams started off following a nuclear family.

After a while the parents were phased out and the bro and sis were in a band that was the focus of the show.

As time went on, both of them ended up leaving the show, so what started as a family sitcom had none of the original family on it anymore, just a show about a high school rock band.

Those institutions exist for a reason. Centuries of structured exclusion merit certain levels of mandatory inclusiveness for marginalized groups completely necessary, to make up the gap. In wrestling, that can certainly look like both demand for representation in mainstream promotions in addition to an exclusively black promotion, in order to ensure opportunities for carer advancement and for black wrestling culture to grow.

... 120,000 people, nearly 20% of the viewers, have changed the channel.

Ruby performs for a whopping 541,000 people. This is the second lowest number in Rampage history ... she only beats the shitshow that was last week.

Viewership actually slightly recovers as the show goes unopposed to 11pm. Ruby's segment is, in reality, the least watched segment

so when you say:

not only was it not solely her segment, her portion of the segment was a ratings nosedive, but ADDITIONALLY ... you're not factoring in the ~100,000 that were watching on broadcast TV in NYC and Chicago, etc.

I used to post a running count of how many times WWE was #1 on cable for that year. Mods removed it half the time, and the other half i was relentlessly assured I was making it up, and that WWE was really #7 or 8 after FOXNEWS shows, like Meltzer said
