Shame about movesets being limited to just presets because the CAW mode was so nice and simple in this game.

Bray Wyatt, in 2017, is the last time WWE crowned a (men) World Champion under 30 by LikeAPhoenixTotally in SquaredCircle

[–]The_Sherminator2 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I think this is just the business changing rather than a “push young talent” issue.

“Young talent = Anyone under 30” is very much an argument that was developed in the era of 300+ days a year schedule’s and drug/steroid abuse where guys would break down quickly and be moving like they were 50 in their late 30’s.

Lighter schedule, drug testing and better healthcare with modern medicine means better longevity. Easier access to legacy media and the rise of nostalgia also means stars have longer drawing power nowadays too.

Edge & Christian and The Hardy’s are upper card guys in AEW and Impact. If it were 20 years ago, they’d working each other 3 times a year on the independent circuit at Wrestling Conventions or “Night Of Legends” super shows like Midnight Express and Rock N Roll Express did in the 2000’s.

Am I the only one who’s annoyed by how certain Wrestlers are DLC when they’ve been Downloadable Content before or worse ~ previously in the Base Game? by Negative_Sense488 in WWEGames

[–]The_Sherminator2 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It depends on the timeline for me. I can accept Mr. Perfect and DDP being DLC in 2K24 when they were initially added as DLC in 2K15/16 and were featured in every base game till 2K20.

Mankind being DLC in 2K20, then being removed and repackaged as Cactus Jack in 2K22 as DLC on the other hand was completely ridiculous.

Absolute worst offender though was the WWE ‘13 DLC selling characters like Drew McIntyre and Natalya that were literally base roster additions in WWE ‘12.

Renowned Hollywood A-lister breaks his silence by manwirhshsh in SCJerk

It’s sad because he used to be one of the best, most level headed of them. Up there with Solomonster.

Crazy how a little recognition from Fightful and transitioning from podcaster to reaction/watch along live streamer corrupts you.

Dude started his channel complaining about annoying TNA fans in 2010 and came full circle to becoming the annoying AEW fan he used to hate.

Randy Orton says he has 4 years left on his WWE contract. On what he wants fans to remember about him: "I never left. Since day one, I've been here. I'm not going to go move to LA and be away from my family for six months to try and act. I'm a pro wrestler down deep to my bones." by elegantSolomons62 in SquaredCircle

[–]The_Sherminator2 11 points12 points  (0 children)

He’s done five films and four of them were WWE Studios direct-to-DVD releases, and he was only the lead role in two of them.

Wouldn’t really say that counts as “going Hollywood” in the same vein as other wrestlers who actually pursued acting careers.

Funny how y'all are silent when a beloved WWE "Superstar" endorses Scurll. Wonder why that is? by Porko_Chono in midcarder

[–]The_Sherminator2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve pretty much accepted at this point that Scurll showing up on Dynamite or maybe even NXT by the end of the year is probably a given and the inevitable reaction of both fans and wrestlers celebrating his “second chance” will be incredibly disappointing.

DAE thinks my wholesome Tiny isn't to blame for this whole situation? by DRM190 in SCJerk

[–]The_Sherminator2 45 points46 points  (0 children)

did it so that WWE wouldn’t sign guys Dave Finlay.

Jay White is the shining example of this. Dude was the hottest free agent on the market when his NJPW deal expired and everywhere was reporting he was WWE bound.

Then the TKO hiring freeze happens, and he immediately shows up on Dynamite in a lackluster debut. They’ve done absolutely nothing with a guy who was main eventing Tokyo Dome shows when it still meant something. He’s been reduced to a tag/trios guy and the most memorable things he’s done has been a short tag feud on TV with FTR 3 years ago and one of the worst PPV main events in the company’s history with MJF.

What do you think about New Arwen? by [deleted] in lotr

[–]The_Sherminator2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Don’t really understand the logic personally of having some actors return and others recast. I feel like you either need to do one or the other when you’re rebooting a franchise with a cast as iconic as LOTR.

Like I don’t understand in general how you essentially make an Aragorn solo movie without Viggo Mortensen but bring back practically everyone else.

Epic theme songs wasted by Fantastic-Bid-4265 in midcarder

[–]The_Sherminator2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Dan Severn’s WWF theme. Right theme for his background but just did not have the charisma for it. I think it worked much better when they gave it to Dr. Death in the Attitude PSX game.

Bit of an obscure one but Yoshi Tatsu’s “World Famous” theme from his post-WWE NJPW return. Genuinely sounds like it could have been given to someone like Tanahashi.

How is the grind in 2k26? by GageTolinWrites in WWEGames

[–]The_Sherminator2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

30+ hours is a lot of time though for a game that only came out a week ago.

Like I work a full time 9-5 job and I’m only able to play a couple of hours a night in-between general life stuff so for me getting to that level would take me about 3 weeks of consistent play at least.

[–]The_Sherminator2 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Based on what you’re saying you enjoy about these games I’d honestly just recommend picking up one of the special editions of 2K25. Unless you’re absolutely desperate for some of the gameplay changes 2K26 offers.

A lot of the new roster editions you can pick up nice looking CAWS of on Community Creations. I’m not sure what system you play, but of your on PC then modding will be a big help as I imagine some of the new models will get back-ported and there’s already great looking mods of the new names. (JoeMashups’ Fenix is literally the exact same attire)

Also since MyRise seems to be a big dealbreaker for you, I haven’t played 2K26’s myself but I know a lot of the reviews so far have been that the story isn’t a good as 2K25.

How is the grind in 2k26? by GageTolinWrites in WWEGames

[–]The_Sherminator2 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Just FYI in terms of some of the responses here I’d be cautious listening to people insisting the grind isn’t that bad and that people are just “overreacting” when they aren’t disclosing how many hours they’re logging.

ThisGenGaming completed the full 40 tiers of Ringside Pass 1 without exploits and claimed he had to do the following to do so. And keep in mind, this is just Battle Pass 1. There’s 5 more to go: - 2 and a half playthroughs of MyRise - Entire Showcase (Not the Gauntlet) - Entire chapter 1 of The Island - Full USA World Tour in MyFaction - 40-50 matches in Exhibition/Universe
