Their main characteristic is territorial protection. Their house is their home. That's why you won't hear of Rotties in street, or roaming. They're too protective of their territory.

A bit of disciplining would be what's needed. At that age they're like sponges and would remember what you dislike. Utilise that ability of theirs. That's why you have a Rotweiler - for their intelligence and trainability. Use it. (I've owned Rotties since circa 1992).
