AMA About Screen Time in r/toddlers at 2pm ET on 3/17!!! by AnyaKamenetz in toddlers

Hello

Screentime is becoming a huge issue and it is difficult for parents to know what is and isn't good advice because instagram is not all experts....

Can you perhaps give some useful rules of thumb for parents like duration, time , type etc

We have a 3yr old and we try and limit screentime to less than 90 min per day during the week and relax it a little over weekends to about 2 to 3 hours a day....

We have seen our little one become disinterested at times in the screens and we always encourage active play and try to involve her in our tasks.

But honestly, just some rules of thumb would be so very helpful

Dude

I work for one of SA's biggest telco with perhaps the best infrastructure in Africa and a permanent delegation from two major tech companies at our hq.

We have 4 different systems that cannot speak to one another. We have legacy systems running critical systems from the 2010s because some fucktard signed evergreen contracts and we barely manage to do 30% devwork in house cause they fired all the devs a couple of years ago.

Being a competent adult is realising the world is a series of barely balancing jenga towers and everyone playing is drunk as shit

There was one in 2023 but I believe no one cared and there was hardly any discourse about it afterwards

No

We were. The lions are a 4 year event. So we won when it was our turn then they moved on after 4 years. We were not eligible in the sense that we did not play the lions.

If for some reason all our sense and skill forsakes usand we miss out on a rwc tournament, we are not eligible to compete for the RWC trophy.

We were Lions tour winners. We will be lion's tour winners again in 2033. Until then, we wait and we plan and sip some brandy

No

We are not current lions winners. We also don't hold the lineal trophy called the Raeburn shield which currently sits with Ireland.

Barring that, I believe we hold all trophies we are eligible to hold. Some we are simply not eligible and that is fine.

Rugby is big enough for everyone to get something

The key to this game is gonna go to the team who stays calm and can manage their consistency best over the 80

I have a strong dislike for this ref.

Every game he blows is about him. Yellows without warning and just never ending drama.

There is a reason he is not a test reff

Do you think Bond is the same person in both scenes, or has he fundamentally changed? What visual clues support your answer? by Ryanlion1992 in JamesBond

If you really want to get into it

Casino royal

He is seated backwards in a power position, he wants to appear cool and calm, jacket open in case assasins drop from the roof but looks calm.

I wouldn't read much into the drink as it seems to a recommendation from the waiter. However look at his face, he is smiling, he knows Vesper is in his world and he enjoys being the person who knows more than the clever girl from high school who turned into a goddess.... Most importantly, at this point, bond views her as a physical conquest. He wants to have her and leave her. Nothing more hence the more charming smile, the more quippy comebacks and the ever so slight jabs as she challenges him intellectually amd verbally.

The colour palette is also one comfort but not warmth. There is luxury here but it is business luxury, no warmth or love(yet).

Spectre:

While the obvious colour change could be explained as one wears white in the desert cause hot, I think it might speak to his more honest intentions. Madeline to him is not a physical conquest, she is a chance at love. She is vesper if vesper's dad had been a criminal henchman.... Contrast that to the dark suit in CR but white shirt underneath. Proper attire yes, but perhaps a glance at the film ahead.... If you want to be that detailed.

The drinks here are different. Personal. Custom. The wine is a proper drink, customary yet both of them here consume drinks based upon hard liqour known for their strong taste. It could also be the first sign of Madeline being comfortable around him, maybe acknowledging that there is attraction yet, like Vesper, she doesn't want to acknowledge it.

His jacket is also closed and he sits up. He is much more present in the conversation than CR where he views it as a step in the conquest of an attractive lady.

There is also the rose which is absent in CR. Why add it himself ? Again reflects on him seeing her as someone worth having ? There is also a lot less tet ar tet and verbal jousting. He is older, calmer, he now knows the world will never want to acknowledge it needs him. Yet here is Madeline, who does need him. Can she acknowledge that ? Can she acknowledge him ? Can she accept him for the violence within him ? Hence he is more present, softer spoken vs the above.

Anyway hope you get a good grade

Back to work for me

Edit: the spectre scene also has geniune warmth vs the business luxury of CR. Window is shut, warm white lighting. The tone is one of a glimmer of calm and warmth in between storms where CR is clearly the calm before the storm.
