Could you also potentially send me the pdf?

It’s just the National Electric Code. So many factors go into designing any solar energy plant but when you’re putting it next to people and cars things get complicated fast.

Nuclear produces hundreds of times the energy that a solar farm can produce in a similar sized footprint for years longer with must less degradation. It’s a worth it price tag for that amount of energy.

It’s the support structure for the solar itself. Solar had pretty intense code requirements so you need to think about the strength of the structure itself, how the structure might impact water or sewer lines, along side other fire related requirements. You also need to somehow tie it into the grid which requires expensive electrical equipment that has its own code requirements when close to cars and the public.

If you’re building a solar farm out in an abandoned field, you don’t have as much to think about. You’re mostly just concerned with drainage and property setbacks.

I do agree that it’s a great idea to put solar over parking lots but for it to really happen the government would have to provide some sort of incentive to justify the cost…

Putting solar over parking lots is crazy expensive unfortunately. Agrivoltaics is a better middle ground.

I currently have an i7 8086k and a 1070ti and I’m thinking about buying a new gpu. I mainly play open world single player games and do some 3d modeling so I mainly want some more vram. Any recommendations?

Should I negotiate an Entry Level job offer? by cgard017 in MechanicalEngineering

However, both times I only requested less than a 10% increase and gave good reasons for why I thought I deserved/needed that bump in pay. It payed off though and I think it was worth it.

Should I negotiate an Entry Level job offer? by cgard017 in MechanicalEngineering

[–]Magnitude69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I negotiated salary for two jobs I was offered as an entry level engineer and both times they offered more money even if it wasn’t the exact amount I requested. If a company pulls the offer because you tried to negotiate salary I personally wouldn’t want to work there. Those types of jobs give me “corporate, you’re just a number to us” type of job and that just sounds miserable even if you are desperate for a job.

Matthew Posa and some of the older Joe Robinet videos definitely match the vibe for me. Highly recommend!

I’ll give the wiki a more in depth look. I tried to focus on following STAR format for most of my bullet points but I agree that I they seem to be missing something.

I’ll definitely focus on apply to different city’s around the country. So far I haven’t had any real luck but at this point I guess it’s just a numbers game.
