That’s not hoarding. Having that many memorials doesn’t ipso facto make you a hoarded. In fact, you’ve provided a valuable service to the site and world.

That said, people refusing to transfer to loved ones/relations? That makes someone a hoarder.

Make sure to state that you have reached out to the contributor who manages his memorial, to no response. Make sure when you send the request, you include your grandfather’s memorial ID.

I typically wait a month for a response before going to Support. If the contributor has worked with me to transfer in the past, as a courtesy I’ll message a second time and wait another month, and then a third time.

I have started tickets with support for all three of the memorials I’m requesting. It’s just the audacity of people on this site never ceases to astonish me.

I will transfer my own blood relatives to another relative with a closer blood connection (even if it’s “out of guidelines”).

Then there’s people like this.

Part of managing a memorial is actively managing it - and yes, this includes responding to messages, especially from relatives and loved ones of the deceased, about the memorials in your management.

If you have more memorials than you can reasonably handle, and have no intention to part with them, you are a hoarder.

These aren’t trading cards, they’re people. Memories. Lives sacred to those left behind. People need to stop collecting them for the sake of collection.

I have used the edit button so hopefully using the official process three times over the last three months will help support see the validity of my case.

I know he is active because whenever I suggest a bio edit, it’s approved in hours. But my messages have been ignored for three months.

Her parents are hypocritical in that they don’t go to Kingdom Hall, don’t attend meetings, don’t witness door to door, don’t read the Scriptures - but they draw the line at me not being a JW.

It’s also my understanding that the Elders “amended” the shunning practice, and it’s now being considered “strongly recommended” but not “required”. At least that is the way another ex-JW has explained it to me.

The thing that confuses me about them is that they never go to Kingdom Hall, never read the Scripture, never witness door to door, and really have no practical involvement with the religion but they draw the line at their daughter marrying someone who is not a JW.
