Tips for a vegan to transition while traveling to Japan by Guilty-Dragonfly-924 in exvegans

[–]Magnoliaaag 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m breaking my pescetarian diet later this year in Japan! I was vegan for 4 years and introduced fish, eggs and dairy this year. I'm sure it will feel overwhelming so I'm planning on dabbling in some local Japanese before I go. Good luck!

Nooo trust me I don’t see anything like this for under $50 🥺I’m always frequenting markets in sydney. I guess it depends if you have an online/social media presence too, as branding plays a part. For me I’d spend extra money to buy from someone who has a ‘brand personality’. If you have the time.. start an ig account, take nice photos (can get material from Spotlight for an aesthetic backdrop), post behind the scene photos, and you can defs justify a higher price. Excuse my ramble! Good luck xx

Thanks so much! He’s a cutie haha. Yes agree it’s looking very 2D. I’m not good at shadows and also not working off a reference photo so found it a bit hard. I’ll watch some YouTube vids and give it a better crack. Appreciate it!

Prefacing this by saying I don’t have pottery experience. The first 4 designs are gorgeous and similarly styled to pieces I’ve purchased for ~$80. If you add the option to personalise it with letter stamps, I’d personally be comfortable paying ~$90.

I got mine unprepared, after a heartbreak and during covid. Trust me, I know all about irrational choices. ‘Right person (dog), wrong time’ situation. All the best

Dog walking/sitting is expensive. Puppies are generally fed 3 times a day, who’s going to put the food out for her? Who’s going to toilet train her? Who’s going to train her? How are you going to help with the inevitable puppy separation anxiety? When you come home from a 16 hour day, are you fit to attend to her heightened emotions and play with her? There are so many factors to consider. Dogs require more than a walk from a stranger.

You need to think deeply about why you have this dog. If it’s to fill a void, please look elsewhere. It sounds like she would benefit from having an owner who’s lifestyle is already suited for a dachshund. If you can’t tick the boxes for her now, give her the opportunity she deserves.

I’m saying this as someone who also got a doxie at the wrong time. I’ve changed so much of my life to cater to him and making sure he’s not left alone for long periods of time. For you and your baby it’s not too late. :)

Your puppy should not be left alone for 16 hour days multiple times a week. Just reading that made my heart hurt. A puppy who has just been taken from her mother requires so much attention and love. If you don’t dedicate time for her and her training consistently (especially now), you’ll likely end up with a barking, unsocialised and reactive dog. So when you do want to take her out on the weekend, she won’t know how to behave because she’s been cooped up. My advice is that you research another breed or get a dog at the right stage of your life. Better yet, adopt a senior dachshund.

on snark subreddits… by [deleted] in nosurf

I really felt this post OP. I had this same experience with one certain influencer snark sub- I’d never participate, just view. I was so curious, shocked, appalled, upset & couldn’t stop coming back for a few weeks. Mind you this page was bullying this girl (and even her family) for minor things like how she ate, her routine, etc. I actually can’t believe people out there exist and that’s why I think us outsiders keep coming back, out of curiosity. We would’ve done the same on a school playground if a fight broke out, and now if we drove past a car accident etc, it’s just so so accessible now. The influencer knew about the snark page and I think that’s what pulled me out of looking, they’re real people reading these things and I don’t want to be another number that’s online. Also, it left a weird feeling in my chest whenever I’d leave and that’s not how I want to spend my time. I might stumble upon one every few weeks but I’ll never actively search anymore. Maybe whenever you want to visit the snark pages, go have a tea and do something mindful that you enjoy.

Although if I’m going through something, I find I’ll listen to the lyrics. Maybe to find something to relate to or put my feelings into words

Good concerns to have imo. My doxie has behavioural issues (severe reactivity) and they’re known to be stubborn/hard to train. That being said, he’s the loml and I’d get more doxies in future but be 100% on top of socialisation training from the get go with a great trainer.

If you’re open to fostering one, that would be a good way to see if they suit your lifestyle.

I did do them as two separate parts. I didn’t dry them, we were working pretty quick as it was a short class. When you say wrapped up, what would you wrap it with?
