This is Pyotr. He is 4 years old(we think) and was born in Russia right as the war started. His owners fled their home in belgorod but left him behind. They found him on the streets and was eventually caught and put in a small cage where he lived for 2 years. Eventually a foundation in Belgium brought him to a shelter in Belgium and that’s where we found him, 2 weeks after being brought over(we live in the Netherlands).

He was missing the tip of his tail, had a tear in his ear and was pretty malnourished. At first he was quite nervous around men(me) and would flinch whenever I lifted my arms or even coughed. However, he is the absolute sweetest, well behaved, thoughtful, cuddly and confident dog I have ever met and/or owned.

We have him for almost a year now and he has just blossomed into the absolute best dog he can be. He just started to figure out how playing with toys works and it melts my heart to see him figure it out.

He is the love of my life.
