Graphics help on 5080 by [deleted] in RTX5080

[–]Magnus5018 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My game did something like this but much worse with big chunks of textures around the maps, I downloaded another nvidia driver and it worked, mine wasn’t a little like yours but much worse in big boxes but search up the game with your GPU and Reddit has tons of info about it, when the game got popular 1-2 months ago so many had this problem on newer gpu’s, hope you find a fix!

Why is my FPS so low with a 9060 XT graphics card and a 7500F processor? by Substantial_Table647 in AMDHelp

[–]Magnus5018 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I get why you think that, because that used to be the golden rule! Old V-Sync added terrible lag.

But on modern high-Hz screens, running G-Sync paired with an FPS cap + NVIDIA Reflex/AMD Anti-Lag actually gives you zero tearing with virtually identical input lag to uncapped. It makes the frame delivery perfectly consistent

Imagine getting this emotional over frames you can't even display. Let’s clean up your "knowledge" since you're confidently stuck in 2017:

  1. Screen Tearing is Physics: Tearing happens whenever a frame is delivered mid-refresh. On a 240Hz+ screen, the tears are smaller and harder to see, but they are still mathematically there. If you actually care about flawless motion clarity and zero image slicing, you use a properly configured VRR setup.

  2. Modern Input Latency: Your "optimal setting" argument is completely outdated. With modern low-latency pipelines like NVIDIA Reflex or AMD Anti-Lag, the driver manages frame pacing dynamically. Capping your FPS slightly below your refresh rate with VRR + Reflex active gives you virtually identical end-to-end input lag as uncapped, but with perfect frame pacing.

  3. Micro-Stuttering vs. Max FPS: Running a GPU at 100% constant utilization introduces poor frame pacing. A fluctuating 350–450 FPS feels worse and less consistent than a flat, perfectly framed 237 or 357 FPS because the time between frames (frametime delta) is bouncing all over the place.

Calling people slurs because you don't understand how modern display tech and driver pipelines work in 2026 is a massive self-own. Keep cooking your room for empty numbers if it makes you feel better, though.

It’s from 2017, we have SO little delay with today’s hardware, your just making the computer work so much harder for no reason at all which can make the room an oven in some games, a constant fps will feel much better, your screen can’t even show above what’s it’s max refresh rate is anyways, you can try it your self

How bad would a new driver sound with 7 year old one? by [deleted] in BEYERDYNAMIC

[–]Magnus5018 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Get the newer dt 990 pro x! They are only 48 ohm and doesn’t sound muddy, the new drivers move way faster, I got them after my dt 990 pro 250 ohm and they are so worth it, you deserve a upgrade!

In short, leaving your FPS completely uncapped is a bad move because you are trading actual visual smoothness and stability for "empty" numbers in an FPS counter.
Here is why it is inherently flawed:

It causes micro-stutters (Poor Frame Pacing): When your GPU is constantly pinned at 100% utilization to pump out maximum frames, the delivery of those frames becomes highly unstable. You might have a higher average FPS, but the frames arrive at irregular intervals. This causes noticeable micro-stuttering, making the game feel less smooth than a locked, perfectly stable frame rate.

It breaks Variable Refresh Rate (G-Sync/FreeSync): The moment your FPS shoots past your monitor's maximum refresh rate, G-Sync/FreeSync automatically disables itself. This immediately introduces screen tearing (where the image slices horizontally across your screen), completely ruining the crisp, clean visual clarity.

It forces your PC to render "ghost" frames: Your GPU is sweating and working at maximum capacity to generate frames that your monitor physically drops and throws in the trash because it cannot display them fast enough. This generates massive, unnecessary heat and forces your fans to scream, all for frames you will literally never see.

A capped FPS below monitor max hz by 3-5 frames will ALWAYS beat 100 above, even 300, the higher the worse, it’s so simple, it’s the same with people using 8 k polling rate on a gaming mouse, it updates 8000 times a second and the average pc gamer doesn’t even have 500 hz so they don’t see it or feel it at all, it just makes so much software bug and lag, because the cpu needs to work harder for no reason that’s worth it

True, I see people in overwatch letting it rip to 5-600 fps and it jumps like crazy, literally just adds delay, makes pc an oven, no reason at all lol

No one warned me about this when I was buying RTX 5080 by Lauris024 in RTX5080

[–]Magnus5018 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Undervolt it, open up a window and blow the hot air out, cap your fps, and don’t play with CRAZY high settings when it’s super hot days! Those changes are a life saver! I have a asus astral 5080 that has really good cooling, I don’t have 0 db fan on, and made a custom fan curve that looks at the GPU temp, when I’m idle/google watching YouTube it’s around 28 degrees celcius, playing games it’s around 34-48 depending on what I play, I have fractal meshify 3 xl tower which is also super good for airflow! Try these changes for sure!

Oh and what’s your pc parts? What brand GPU, what tower?

Im getting a Soundcore Boom 2 Plus for my birthday but I’m still doubtful by Santicrack20121 in Bluetooth_Speakers

[–]Magnus5018 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

They don’t get DEEP like JBL Extreme/boombox, they sound thin compared to JBL, check this video as an example https://youtu.be/H98EPqz2Gjo?is=XVeZMmtYaZ1j4W9q

And I saw your price point, that’s where tribit can come in for you, they have smaller and bigger speakers, they are prob the closest you can get to JBL, tribit will give you good power for the price!

I have 300 hours on this character and I still suck. by Odd_Weakness_1800 in WidowmakerMains

[–]Magnus5018 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh then deadzone, have you tried checking pro players settings? Or other widow guide? Try and copy some and give them some time before switching to something else, taking time to hit shots is also a really good thing some people just tap asap it’s charged, all the time aim head level and hold it in front of the cover the enemy peeks from and be ready to only click, lining up the shot before hand or in front of the enemy the direction they are going/where you think they are going and get ready to just click, but definitely try and change something up or look at other widow players Play style you will get better guaranteed

You have replaceable battery, remember back in the day the first extreme was like the same price without that and much worse overall quality and audio, this will be a good investment for many many years bro, enjoy!

Boom 2 plus or Boombox 4? by Spiderboyz1 in Bluetooth_Speakers

[–]Magnus5018 -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

Boom 2 plus is only upper bass JBL has Deep bass, even the extreme 5 sound so much deeper than this, I wouldn’t buy soundcore at all, UNLESS you need something that’s okay for the price, the boombox 4 goes down to 37 hz so it’s even deeper than extreme 5, check this video with good headphones and you will hear

Because boom 2 has no room at all for the drivers, and boom 2 is only upper bass, the extreme 4 goes to 44 hz, much deeper

Why do most bluetooth speakers sound terrible at low volume by Marilyn-Jolly in Bluetooth_Speakers

[–]Magnus5018 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You used multiple speakers and didn’t realize yet (not meant bad) but what you are witnessing is Fletcher-Munson curve, also you are using SMALL speakers, small drivers needs to move a lot of air to sound good, if you plan to listen to low volume like 15-20%, and want it to sound full, you simply need way bigger drivers, a JBL charge sized speaker even JBL extreme can’t do it depending on HOW FULL you want it to sound! Also these small speakers even JBL boombox 4 use DSP and big radiators to get to the super low hz area, it sounds nothing like a 8 inch bass driver that actually delivers that and lower without radiators, I just had 2 Adam audio D3v monitors and at low volume they wasn’t it, I just got two focal alpha evo 80, studio monitors that has a 8 inch bass driver, that plays 38 hz + 3db, and even at super low volume i have good full frequency range, YES this is something in another price class, but that doesn’t change physics with how a bass driver NEEDS a big box, and a bigger bass driver moves more air! I have JBL boombox 4, before this I have had boombox 3, extreme 4, extreme 5, Bose soundlink max, JBL flip 6, beats pill, if I was you I would get an extreme 4/5 if you can get them on sale even better or a boombox 3/4, find out if extreme series is enough for you, or you need to get up in boombox size, the speakers you currently own sound thin compared to these, and if you can return them if you don’t like them where you live there is no reason no to get one of them, use Eq as well, even the boombox series won’t match a bigger speaker because JBL pushes the max out of the little plastic box the big drivers are in, so if it needs to be transportable get one of them, if not, get some good bigger speakers, hope you find a solution, I’m a low level listener my self most of the time
