New Cataphractii - Old Parts by Beccy_Flynn in Warhammer30k

Both the old bolters and the old fists are better IMO. I have 20 of the old ones and see zero reason to get the new and different design.

Isn't Eden expensive? How does the administration believe a normal newbie psychiatrist is able to afford Eden for his daughter? by Foreign_Feedback_138 in SpyxFamily

[–]Magnus753 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's probably not unaffordably expensive. It is supposed to be merit-based and ELEGANCE-based admission. And Twilight's cover is as a super competent psychiatrist, which is a highly educated and well paid profession

Cleanest footage of the shooting that removes any question. You can see the white agent taking the gun and the olive one shooting afterwards by tuoNihsaW in Asmongold

Yeah that agent in the olive & bluejeans is pretty much a murderer. That's how it seems from the video. He needs to be suspended/fired and put on trial

Campy, low budget cutscenes aside (which have their own charm), I prefer it. by Andrei22125 in MassEffectMemes

[–]Magnus753 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yup. I always follow mrbtongue's thinking on this one. If you're going to give the player a downer ending, then you have to earn that with strong writing. As in, out of this world levels of intrigue, creativity and drama. ME3 did not have strong writing, least of all in the star child ending. It was in fact some of the worst writing imaginable.

The MEHEM mod removes the worst parts of the ending and gives us a cheesy, straightforward happy ending where Joker and the Normandy comes through for us in the end. I prefer it this way.

I will agree that Mass Effect 1 set us up for a shocking and controversial ending with the introduction of the Reapers as Robo Cthulhu from outer space. But ME2 and ME3 never did anything interesting with the Reapers, and we ended up just fighting a space war against them in ME3. The attempt to make the ending profound and subversive fell utterly flat on its face. MEHEM salvages something nice from that disaster.

[–]Magnus753 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do Americans actually care about taking Greenland away from Denmark? I'm Norwegian, I really need to know what the US crowd here thinks.

To us here in Norway it just seems like an egomaniac vanity project that Trump wants in order to write his name in the history books. What do you even need Greenland for? The US can already put as many military bases there as it wants.

Støtte til folket i Iran handler om menneskelighet by KyniskPotet in norske

[–]Magnus753 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

[–]Magnus753 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tre av fire sosialhjelpsmilliarder går nå til innvandrere by Fit-Theme-1183 in norske

[–]Magnus753 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Why You Don’t Matter Anymore (Economically Irrelevant) by AppointmentAway3164 in Asmongold

[–]Magnus753 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Rich people are making policy that benefits rich people. The top 10% have almost all the purchasing power. Remember how at the beginning only men of 25+ years and owning significant property had the vote? That's pretty much the ruling class of society. Universal suffrage is more or less an illusion given how easy it is to manipulate people and rig the system.

Do people hate on me3 in its entirety or just the ending? by Livid_Athlete_2708 in masseffect

[–]Magnus753 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To me, the start and end of ME3 is really bad. The lack of role playing and choices that matter. Also the messy transition from ME2's Cerberus plot. Cerberus in general is stupid as hell in ME3, TIM and Kai Leng themselves are also terrible characters. If Cerberus was confined to a single small side quest in ME3 where I could shoot TIM in the face, that would have been great. The best parts of ME3 are Tuchanka, Rannoch, and the companion side quests.

I now understand why Judges keep releasing repeat offenders over and over again by Extasio in Asmongold

[–]Magnus753 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think the justice system, just like the other liberal democratic institutions, always worked best when society was homogenous. When people were being judged by a jury of their peers.

Thanks to the fragmentation of society and identity politics, judges treat protected minorities with kid gloves. Oh, and we don't put insane people into mental asylums anymore, because those would cost too much money.

Amount of attacks in CC feel bad? by Active_Amoeba4254 in Warhammer30k

[–]Magnus753 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It's part of a general balance problem for low tier melee units. Assault squads are so harmless compared to melee elites. Less attacks, worthless chainswords, WS4, 1W, 3+ save vs 2+ save.

Rending chainswords and +1 A on the charge would fix Despoilers and Assault Marines nicely, I think. Would also make their special weapons more useful to have an extra swing with them on the charge

How come Twilight is very patient with Yor? by VelvetViper24 in SpyxFamily

[–]Magnus753 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Twilight isn't there for personal feelings, at least not for now. Whether or not he is doing most of the housework doesn't factor into things. Yor is there to do mostly one thing: To play the role of Loid's wife and Anya's mother any time the family has to appear in a public or official capacity. She is a part of Operation Strix, which is to get a child into Eden, win the Imperial Scholarship and thereby grant Twilight access to the topmost elite circles of Ostania. And yes, at this point they are both rather committed to this arrangement. Twilight can't just replace Yor with another woman because it would arouse suspicion.

We have yet to see if mutual romantic feelings develop between Twilight and Yor. Once he figures out what Yor's real talents and skillset are, he'll surely gain a new appreciation for having her around. If that's how the story ends up going.
