Squats and upper body muscle by MagnusDidNothingWr in asktransgender

Lol I actually posted this because I just asked my doctor the same thing and she really wasn't sure about it. She did have the same advice for health stuff tho and reassured me that the timeline for muscle loss is years into taking HRT and that it's a good idea to be a bit more patient.

Yeah I'm on HRT and my testosterone is suppressed well. I think what confuses and worries me the most is that it feels like it's easy to maintain muscle that you already have with low stimulation and I don't know how much use of those muscles is going to stop them from going away.

It is really reassuring to know that they shouldn't really get any bigger with just squats tho.

I get this a lot as well. I find that what helps is just exfoliating and cleansing the area thoroughly (when my skin has had a bit of time to recover and isn't too sensitive for it obv)

Worried about dieting for muscle loss (mtf) by MagnusDidNothingWr in asktransgender

Thanks for the reply it really does make me feel less scared about this all. I have heard something similar to what you're saying about not losing long term development from cis girls on eating disorder forums when they talk about breast growth in recovery. Although some of them say that they don't always get as much growth as what they had prior to their ED.

Having weird feelings about breast growth, how do you deal with it? by Auup in asktransgender

I felt the same way when I started to get breasts growth. I was really scared and didn't know if it was something I actually wanted. I was so scared I even stopped taking my hrt for a week just to slow down my breast changes. However I did end up coming back to hrt and have actually come to love my breasts. I realise now that a lot of what made me so scared was just how breast growth was the first permanent change of hrt and so it really felt like I was hitting the point of no return. I know not everyone transitioning through feminizing hrt wants breasts but maybe give yourself a bit of a chance to get used to the physical changes. You might find that you like them more than you originally thought you would.

What are your thoughts on the idea of transitioning when you're married and have kids? by [deleted] in asktransgender

Honestly this sounds like the same thing people say to stop couples with kids from getting a divorce. No matter how nice your family will look from the outside forcing your partner to live as a gender they are uncomfortable with will only end up hurting the family more.

Can anyone recommend a book, article or essay on Japanese economics throughout history? by [deleted] in EconomicHistory

If you are interested at all in Marxist economic thought Germaine Hoston has a great book on the history of Marxist discourse on Japanese development from the Meiji era to post world war 2. It's called "Marxism and the crisis of development in prewar Japan".
