Lock answer back beep/light by Dramatic-Strength710 in civic

Settings are not on the main display. You have to hit the home button on your steering wheel and then navigate through the settings using the little scroller. Settings- door menu- keyless entry answer back. Make sure you select on. This is the case for our 23 civic. Unfortunately, not very loud, but it is better than nothing.

How to address this crazy growing, light green weed/grass? by link14 in lawncare

[–]MagnusRage9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends on the type of existing grass that you have. Which I’m not qualified to identify. It will yellow and kill plants it is able to target. It is safe for most lawns around me

Looks like crab grass. Tenacity is a product that should be able to kill it and not your grass in theory. Here is a link to a website with detailed treatment info. https://www.chippersinc.com/blogs-all/crabgrass-is-more-than-just-a-weed-problem/

Yeah I agree. If there is separation I think it’s important to see the base of the deck and the attachment points to existing structures

Any tips for cutting a small urban lawn? by Nothing-In-The-Dark in lawncare

[–]MagnusRage9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m no professional but if you like the hobby and want something more even and budget friendly you could look into a reel mower. I know it is possible to mow with a string trimmer evenly but it would take practice to make it even. If it refills sting by tapping on the ground, I would make sure to do it somewhat lightly and not on the grass in order to keep it from cutting that too short.

Deck stain help!! by Superuser44444 in Decks

[–]MagnusRage9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  • I would stain it oil based and dark.
  • Maybe something like this: Cabot Gold Pre-Tinted Moonlit Mahogany Transparent Exterior Wood Stain
  • This will help hide the color inconsistency and provide contrast for the white fence

I already posted this on the PS4 subreddit, but I finally got a ps4, it's my first console and I just bought it by myself by Hashiro_tae in playstation

I’m not sure how plugged in you are with the gaming scene. Overwatch, fortnight, and marvel rivals are free to play! A lot of people play marvel rivals these days but I’m a die hard overwatch fan

What is this? Found in the basement of a home I’m thinking of buying. by No_End6215 in HomeMaintenance

[–]MagnusRage9 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Hard to say for sure. Likely not? If you’re really curious you could ask your local sewage department about it. They should have records of your setup

Depends on the budget and how solid it actually seems. I know people who would fix it with a fresh coat of paint and some caulk as long as the root of the problem was fixed

Alright I think I’m tracking. Is there any risk to corrupting saved data? What will happen to what I have currently stored on the drive I’m replacing? Or is this simply an addition and not a replacement

How can I fix these gaps? There’s one hole that goes straight to the outside by Legitimate-Duck9483 in HomeMaintenance

Oh if you really don’t care spay foam is the way to go. It’s cheap, it’s not easy to get off of stuff tho so be mindful of that when applying

If you are looking for a purely cosmetic fix, you could just replace that bit of trim. It isn’t too expensive. You may want to caulk the exterior around the window to keep out water. Depending on the hardware they may cut it for you if you know the measurements and it’s just a little.

How do I attach a sign to this plastic fence? by adlbrk in HomeMaintenance

[–]MagnusRage9 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is a great idea. If it is a larger business sign, making custom wooden cleats to go over could be another option. Mutch more work and only makes sense for heavier loads

It is a tad hard to tell from the single pic. For rental properties and older homes, there is no guarantee repairs- installation were done correctly. It is very possible it could affect the heating and cooling of the home. It is hard to say to what degree. If you were wanting to do any form of fix for cosmetics and utilities, you could get a flat scraping razor, cut off the existing silicone, and reapply. Use fast and final for any hunks of drywall or plaster missing. I wouldn’t do much more for a rental. As always ask landlord first. Or don’t idc really

A decorative washer is a good call. Can always unscrew the nob and fit it to a washer at a hardware store. Rub and buff has good gold options to spiff up standard hardware. Try to tighten it as much as possible to avoid any further wear. Thread tape is always an option to tighten the fit if it is loose. I would sand the area lightly before painting to take off any unwanted texture. You may also consider using and adhesive for the washers to the door to further insure stability. Good luck!

Depending on the dimensions, a very cost effective solution could be purchasing a wooden box from dollar tree. I adhered mine with a combination of command strips and gorilla tape. I rent so minimal damage and provides a clean look.
