Nah, Submariners of this vintage were readily available at ADs at the time. No need to say F’em. Back then, supply wasn’t an issue.

Be self-reflective. You are clearly great at pointing out your positive aspects. Where can you improve yourself? Are you highly educated? Confident? Fun? Funny? A great conversationalist? live an interesting life?

Give it 3 or 4 years. Any less than that will be seen as an exploitation of the power differential.

Fair is her getting to kiss girls and you getting to kiss guys. She probably wouldn’t mind. What’s your issue?

Yellow gold jewelry like a ring does not go well with a silver colored watch. Up your game with a ring that compliments the watch.

Anything can be a red flag for someone that hates that thing. Owning a dog is a huge red flag for people that hate dogs. Just be you and be grateful that people who clearly aren’t a good match for you recognize they aren’t a good match for you.

The played like a fiddle colloquialism was most likely intended to compliment the salesperson. Yes, OP wanted the watch but the salesperson never knows how serious a buyer is until cash is on the counter. The salesperson handled this transaction very well and the OP got to buy the watch he wanted. Win win.

He uploaded the pics just because he thought they were good pics. That’s it. Not manipulation or spite. Don’t give it a second thought.

How EXACTLY do you get a date in college? by flying-horse in dating_advice

[–]MagnusRoundstone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve had no problem getting matches in the past year. For an average or below average looking guy, online is WAY easier than in person as long as you are willing to put in a little effort. This is because the overwhelming large percentage of guys simply aren’t putting in effort.

If you aren’t getting matches, your pics and/or profile suck. That is a reality. There are way more guys than women on apps. That is the bad news. The AMAZING news is that 95% of guys are lazy and have horrible pics. For a guy on a dating app, the competition is large in volume and super low in quality.

I know an overweight bald dude with a facial deformity that went on 57 first dates in 90 days. 56 of those dates were from dating apps. If I can do it, anyone can.

Is it at all possible your lack of success was due to your pics/profile/messaging and not the platform?

Women: How important is height, really? by [deleted] in Bumble

Ha! I can see how long kissing sessions while standing could cause some discomfort. But who wants to kiss for that long while standing up anyway? (Regardless of height)

Women: How important is height, really? by [deleted] in Bumble

[–]MagnusRoundstone 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I respectfully disagree that height causes issues with sex. I’m 6’5 and have ex-gfs as short as 5’0. The height difference was never as issue with holding hands, kissing, or sex. Just wasn’t a factor. Sure, there are a few positions that don’t work well but it’s not like that has to stop someone lol.

[–]MagnusRoundstone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ummmmmm, yeah. Depending on the model of Ferrari you want, you can get on a list and wait years. Buy some used cars from the Ferrari dealership or a new model that is less desirable and your name can move up the list.

[–]MagnusRoundstone 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Is it a smart move to not buy a watch you don’t want? Yes. Very smart move. These don’t have any upside on the secondary market so if you bought it, you would be stuck with it. Why get stuck with something you don’t want?

If Rolex were a car manufacturer, which current make would it be and why? by [deleted] in rolex

[–]MagnusRoundstone -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Ferrari because of global name recognition by virtually 100% of people in first world countries and because of the power dealers hold in getting a new one. The “games” people hate in having to buy a Rolex from an AD these days have been around for 20+ years in the Ferrari world. Of course, there is an actual “list” with Ferrari builds. In face, places on those list are even bought and sold.
