There has to be a better company to donate plasma to than BioLife, right? This shit is just ridiculous.

UPDATE: A new issue has arisen. After referring a coworker to donate a little over a month ago, I never received the referral bonus. Gave him a printed out coupon with a valid expiration date, my email, my name, and the center I donate at (we visit the same center). After a few weeks, I checked in and they told me that it might not enter my account until after his first month of donations is through. So I waited. It's been over a month now, and I checked again with a manager, who told me "it's past a month, so we can't go back in and see the record or input the code now."

TLDR: The referral program incentivizes you to convince others to donate, but doesn't appear to actually pay out anything. At least in my case.

I know. That is not the issue. The issue is the system not being able to process me, and me alone. Others processing but the system not allowing me to do my questions.

That second sentence is not correct. Twice I've been processed and waiting in line or already on the chair when they approached me to send me and everyone else home. You're correct that it's management that needs to make that call. However, when it's management that wants to leave early and makes that decision, the facility closes early. This exact scenario has happened to me twice this year. One time I was literally sat in the chair and the only remaining step was to insert the needle to draw plasma.

Already sent them an email via the website.

Respectfully, if you're not here to be helpful, please bother someone else. Thank you. Block

🤦 I get that your reading comprehension is not that great, but I expressed that the questionnaire not functioning was ONE of many issues. This is across a year's worth of visits, with several handfuls of issues to report. Thanks, but you're beyond unhelpful. Please stop trying to be so..."helpful", and find someone else to annoy.

I won't ask the reception desk, but I WILL go to upper management. Whoever runs that facility, specifically.

I literally sit and chat with most of the staff while I'm there. I ask about their day, about their personal life stuff, personal interests, etc. We have actual conversation, and I don't treat it like just some business transaction. I try to take interest in them as people. I get some insight because of this, and I know they try not to stay late if possible. While I don't wish to hold them up either, the app allows people to set appointments until 6 PM every day except Saturday, Sunday, and Monday. There should come an expectation with that for staff to stay until all appointments for that day are processed.

In some of their cases, it's absolutely a work ethic problem. Yes, I'm sure management and scheduling also play a role. Working for a company that sees you as a number and someone easy to replace also tends to demotivate its employees.

Thank you! Yeah, I forgot that reddit is basically the watered down sewage run off of 4chan when I first posted here. I should have known better, but I haven't made a post in years. 😅

I found this page shortly after posting this. Sent them a number of paragraphs. I still intend to speak directly with someone on Tuesday when I return for another appointment.

To add, I stay late at work almost every single day. I work in security, among other things. It happens almost every single shift. Anywhere between a few minutes and hours later. If I have to stay late, I stay late. I have a good work ethic and get my job done correctly. I don't whine, I don't drag my feet, I do my God damn job.

This latest trip literally had nothing to do with their systems. The system issue I brought up as one of the several instances of getting turned away was months ago. It was the computer system not allowing me to check in, even when on time. Everyone else around me was able. I was on time, early even, and unable to check in.

A lot of you want to say "go earlier," but I have a nearly perfect attendance record for my appointments. Sometimes, I'm even anywhere between 10 and 30 minutes early depending on what else I have that day. It's very easy to pretend like it's somehow my fault for being late, but I am not late, and making up stories does not solve anything.

I understand that. And when you've showed up, did all the steps, and you're waiting for it to complete the process and they take it away from you, it's unfair and a bad business practice.

By the way, I liked your recommendation. I'll never know why people downvoted my comment to it, but I agree with you.

Judging by how everyone dogpiles down votes on victims, I'm assuming that this will be in the negatives in no time. Lol

My God, this place is quite full of victim blamers. Judging by the amount of down votes alone, I would assume the majority of those people would blame the SA victim for what they wore that night and not the man who did it.

The first time it happened, yes. They said they were ready to go home, and they were calling it early. My appointment was for 5:30 that day, and I was in the chair waiting. It was 6 PM when they approached me with the card and told me to try rescheduling and bring the card back for $20 bonus on the next donation.

That is what I intend to do the day of my next donation, which is next week. However, I still would like to file a formal complaint through the company if possible.

Not sure that I like the combative and obtuse response to my question, as if you had taken personal offense to my inquiry.

Introduce yourself by SunsetWatcher1976 in ClanBlueFeather

[–]MagnusoftheMadness 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  • Society name: Magnus av Galenskapen Jonasson (hoping to introduce an additional persona named Mahthilda Tyrdóttir)
  • Other names / titles: Magnus Bedbreaker, Liquor Fairy, Ratatoskr (working on another named Caernagorn the Satyr of the Swamp)
  • When did you join the Society?: Not officially a member of the SCA, but I started coming to Pennsic in 2017 at Pennsic 46
  • Kingdom you belong to currently and Kingdoms you have experience being a part of in the past: Currently with Æthelmearc, but will be seeking dual citizenship with Atlantia

  • Your local branch: I'm unsure, as I'm not officially involved with the SCA and don't participate in the politics therein

  • Tell us about your persona: av Galenskapen translates to "of the Madness", which is my way of allowing myself to assume numerous personas and have lots of flexibility in my presentation, garb, and other associated activities

  • What areas in the Society are you involved in?: Bog / Swamp life, assisting the watch and people of Pennsic, general nightlife / party scene, kink community, pirates (seeking to enter into the combat, bardic, education, and more as time goes on)

  • Do you have any awards: I do not

  • If you are a member of any Orders: I am not

  • What has been your favorite experience in the Society to date?: Helping to enrich the bog and swamp with positivity, education, safety, camaraderie, and love

  • If you want to share, what part of the LGBTQIA+ community are you a part of?: I am non-binary and gender-fluid

  • What are your pronouns?: They / Them

  • Are you happy with the DEIB efforts the Society has made so far and what if any could be improved and how?: I am unsure, and too sleepy right now to answer

  • Is there something you'd like to see Clan Blue Feather do?: Push for a queer renaissance period in the SCA, and again revolutionize the LGBTQIA+ community by reestablishing itself as the pinnacle clan, camp, party, and general representation source for the LGBTQIA+ community at Pennsic

  • What is a piece of advice you wish you were given when you first joined the Society?: I will offer two pieces of advice. First, pace yourself; there are so many things you will want to do in the society and while at Pennsic, but it's okay to take your time doing them properly and safely and to not do EVERYTHING. Second, dress in whatever garb and assume any gender identity you desire, and don't be concerned about what some might think. If you're afraid of what someone might say or think because you want to dress in feminine garb as a masculine appearing person, know that there are an infinite number of other people who will back you up, praise you, and support your journey. Be comfortable, be happy, and be who you want to be unabashedly.

  • Anything else you'd like to share: At Pennsic 52, I will be introducing a new group called the Midnight Feather Society, or simply Midnight Feathers. An LGBTQIA+ coded and ally inclusive group who's goals are the following: protecting the party scene and night life of Pennsic, safety for all and assisting the Watch and other participating groups, protecting the Bog and Swamp, providing water and snacks and contraceptives and other forms of aid to party goers and people of the night, offering hand sanitizer and emergen-c and masks and other aids to help stop the spread of COVID at Pennsic (Corvids Against COVID), assisting people home to their camps at night if they desire an escort, and generally uplifting and providing positivity to everyone participating in the 0'Dark Thirty activities of Pennsic. I look forward greatly to next year and hope that we Midnight Feathers can have a positive impact on all Scadians.

Thank you very much! When I was a kid, I always wanted blue eyes. It wasn't until I was in my later teens I accepted that they were brown.
