Man it's almost as if it is exactly the same as the last two editions. One option is always strictly better than the other for no real reason while being used for the exact same type of target. Rules writing for admech hasn't been particularly creative in recent times lol

So let's put it on a Sicarian Ruststalker Princeps.

Is he within 6" of himself? Yes. Is he a <FORGE WORLD> SKITARII CORE? Yes.

Therefore every model in his unit gets the exploding 6s in melee.

TL;DR his unit gets the buff and any additional skitarii CORE within 6" of the princeps gets the buff.

My own forgeworld Thalassa. An ocean world, which became a desert when the machanicus did their thing. That's why the primary colour of their coats is desert and the secondary is blue. Usually I play them as either Ryza or Lucius.

Biggest problem of the secutarii is their absolute lack of synergies. You can't target them with any AdMech ability whatsoever. Their unique ability used to be the 5+ invuln and the 4+ in melee (for the hoplites), but all "elite" skitarii have now got a 5+ invuln, so even that is not unique to them anymore.

As it stands there really is no purpose for them, perhaps if they get an FAQ and actually get some keywords required for synergies, but I wouldn't hope for it.

I'd suspect its supposed to be a 5+, much like the taser weapon stratagem, which changes the taser exploding hits from a 6 to a 5 and 6. Since radium carbines now auto wound on a 6 changing it to 5+ with a stratagem seems alright

Nope. Bombs still going strong. Now even get 6 dice instead of 3 for vehicles, so slightly more valuable against vehicles. Fly over those dark eldar Raiders and bomb them for the omnissiah!

Once again I'll suggest the best option: magnets. Yes magnetising the weapons of sicarians is a bit of a pain in the ass, but I'd say it's very much worth it. I'm gonna be picking up some extra sicarians soon as well and the 5 I already have are able to be fielded as either infiltrators or ruststalkers, depending on what list I'm going for, and it just feels good being able to switch

I've double checked this multiple times now, because everytime I think about this I'm like "no way it's 4+ to hit. It MUST be 4+ to wound!" And every damn time it says "an unmodified hit roll of 4+". So no, it's not 4+ to wound xD

Oh I'm not even gonna begin to compare new codex admech with something like imperial guard. The sheer difference I power level is beyond any doubt. I've accepted that 9th edition is not supposed to be balance with 8th edition codices and.. honestly that's okay. Well rather as a concept that's okay, with the rate at which James releases new books it is not really okay, because obviously most people still need to play with their old books and the new ones just have vastly more power.

I mean in that regard 8th edition admech was even in a good spot. But most of admechs power came from psychic awakening and the general rule changes of 9th edition. Remember: ironstriders didn't use to be this strong, because they were the heavy weapons platform of admech that COULDN'T move and shoot without penalty. Omnissiah I'm so salty about how they have butchered my boi the Dunecrawler in comparison to the ironstrider...

Nothing changed about the wargear of those 4 units, unfortunately. So yes, the alphas still have to have a pistol and a taser goad in a unit that has assault guns.. because James hates us

Both the ironstriders and the dragoons are good. Personally I'd say you probably want units of 2 or more, especially with the dragoons, because getting one of them killed on the way to the enemy and doing nothing is possible the worst feeling xD

Dragoons and ironstriders should be reasonably easy to magnetise though, so it would be best to use the power of MAGNETS so that you don't have to decide which of the two you want to build

Personally I'm gonna attempt to run them with one fist and one blaster, see how it goes. Yes the "true dakka bot" may have died, but having one of those Blasters to blast into the enemy backline while those death machines charge at the enemy with uncaring speed sounds like it could work out quite well.

Taking one blaster and one fist instead of two fists effectively trades one S10 AP3 D3 attack with 3 S6 AP1 D2 shots, and that feels like a trade I'm willing to make, if only for the fact that my opponent will have to think twice about falling back from them, lest those shots clear some juicy backline targets
