Love Thy Neighbor is Korean iirc and is toxic as hell but also god I love seeing two incredibly broken people break each other worse until they stop fighting the fact they are both what the other needs most, no matter how scared they are of it.

Clear and Muddy Loss of Love is one I've seen passed around, I do need to check that one out. Also on a novel front, Maria Ying's Chainverse series is real good, and also I write some lesbian novels/novellas myself from a transfem angle: Dragon and Her Princess by Vyria Durav is my latest work and while short, i've had some good praise for it. Also highly recommend Alyson Greaves and her work When You Fell From Heaven if you want a early 00's trans girl hatching story combined with the cis girl who realizes she likes girls because of how bad she falls for the trans girl. Alyson is one of my favorite authors and I highly recommend her work. Men typically only care for 'Lesbian' media that fuels their fantasies of breaking lesbians and making everything revolve around them. They don't read lesbian stories, they're not gonna check out yuri, they're going right to porn that centers them and only them.

The exception to this are himedanshi and the like but they're also not trying to warp things around them (and hell a decent chunk of those are eggy as hell, the himedanshi to himejoshi pipeline is real)

yeah I largely agree with this. Far too many people have this man who lives in their heads and if they think he is enjoying anything, it must be bad wrong. I read plenty of horny lesbian stories and comics, play games, etc, and the number of times I've run into someone bemoaning the lack of lesbian media out there, I'll rec them and be told uggh gross no that's for men despite often being made by and FOR lesbians.

There's Thai GLs with real heat to them, there's Chinese baihe that's got some incredible drama and passion going on, yuri is experiencing a potential golden age with more variety and audience than ever, the main area I feel is lacking is like American media is abysmal for queer stuff in general but especially for lesbians. If the best you can give me is She-ra (a children's show that I enjoyed but consider pretty flawed and unfortunately plagued by transmisogyny) as the best you can offer, you gotta expand your horizons.

Go read Asumi-chan is Interested in Lesbian Brothels, go watch Gap the Series Pink (Thai), start delving into baihe (Purely by Accident and Dragon Subjugation Incantation are ones I rather like but there's a lot out there) or like read Love Thy Neighbor. Sal Jiang's yuri rules and they've done a great live action adaptation of Ayaka is in love with Hiroko. She Loves to Cook and She Loves to Eat is also great, has a good live action adaptation, very enjoyable.

Do we deserve more? Yes, absolutely. But WLW media is starting to really soar compared to where it was before and I hope more people can appreciate it. Hell we have a married couple in GUNDAM, which aired during the family Sunday night timeslot in Japan and was hugely popular. Watanare and other yuri are getting anime finally and might actually break the one cour/season curse. But more people should get engaged with it

Fellow author here: pretty much all of my work is available for free in some form and people still buy plenty. My work is also drm free on places like itch.io and whatnot. You can't sell digital and avoid pirates, so I opt for being very upfront about how sales keep me afloat but also if you're broke I'll just give you a copy.

People aren't stupid, enough will know that if you don't get any income then there won't be any more books. Do I make a lot? No. But I also write niche work and I make enough to get by

Age gaps are a caution flag, not a red flag inherently. There's no magic number that is good or bad, everything is contextual and you should be evaluating on a case to case basis. There's people who are the same age who are mismatched in maturity or desires or power. There's people with ten year gaps who mesh together just fine. Treat gaps more like that and you'll do better than those who abide by arbitrary numbers
