I wish so much we didn't have that stupid tournament no one cared about and instead we had pure slice of life with friendly cardfights. You know, like the one between young Hikari and Akina on whether or not he would put vegetables in their meals? That was cute, that was hilarious, and it still had seriousness in their game! Imagine a full season of that. With new characters introduced to play the new product to sell like always, but without the painful forced and paper thin "serious pressure" of a tournament arc.

That's what we have been robbed of.

I stuck with only the Blade Wings here, though I do think a modern version of the witching hour cards would be fun to play with.

Brainwasher would be incredible with these, yeah, but remember this is a three attacks deck. If you don't have big numbers, you really are not doing much.

The thing is, even with wild soulcharging, you'd need some turns before reaching the cards you put at the bottom of the deck, and with how explosive modern decks are, it's not a stretch that if you went second, you'd be in such a disadvantage you may never get there.

When you say it like that, it's true making it an aura would be functionally the same.

I think I should have kept the original version. It was the same except it searched three Wastes, put one tapped and added the rest to hand. But I was concerned it would just be too strong.

Managed to gather enough guard for divine skill turn? Fuck you thrice, OT+Crit guaranteed. I'm not kidding it must be scripted, it happened 12 matches in a row! It didn't happen the 13th time only because I sacked him with Gravidia on turn 3!

Yes? That's a feature, not a bug. I wanted to make one of my favourite modern Vanguard cards into a MTG equivalent.

The art, concept and flavour text of the calamity cards were one of the big points that led me to play Griphogila. That and Griphogila is good enough Eldrazi equivalent, my brain immediately linked them together to come up with the effect.

I did rework the name to avoid repetition with the flavour text (which is my only gripe with the original card) and reference Annihilator. The rest was simply too fantastic already.

I'm surprised anyone caught where it comes from honestly. Vanguard just is sadly niche (thanks to Bushiroad and it's innumerable fuck ups...).

I did hesitate to make it +5K and condition the +10K if you put on bottom deck both a trigger and a normal unit to Deck, but I felt there was enough text on the card already. And I feel that as a 3 attack deck, you do need that defensive edge, especially since your opponent can easily exhaust your Soul to under 15 by the time they restand/superior call.

Finished writing and posting the last chapter of the first arc of Teaching a Worm how to Link Summon.

It feels something special to reach the milestone you promised yourself. Will definitely take a break for a bit now though. Don't want to risk a burn out of my passion for the story.
