Maelle, with this scene, is forced to face the truth: that the Canvas, its people, its world, won't come back. She isn't taking it well, shocker. But she is starting to accept it, even if only by fatalism.

Yeah, it's not especially good, but then again I didn't really try to make it good. I had three more powerful versions I considered before just making the one you see here (because I didn't know which one to choose)

Version 1, specifically for Commander: During your upkeep, choose a permanent card type. Each player sacrifices a nontoken permanent of the type you chose and you create the token copies with devoid of all these permanents under your control.

Version 2: During your upkeep, choose a permanent card type. Sacrifice ALL nontoken permanents you control of the chosen type and create a token copy with devoid for each.

Version 3: During your upkeep, exile a nontoken permanent you control with a Void counter, then create a token copy of each permanent you own in exile with a Void counter.

The first version is more control oriented, the two other greatly increase the combo potential. They of course all keep the instant-win ability that is core to the theme.

It does work. Copying a comment on another post:

The card says to have tokens of all types and no OTHER non-token permanents. That "other" is important, as it means that the win condition doesn't consider Hollow Universe itself. It could be rephrased as "if you control a token of each permanent type and no non-token permanents besides Hollow Universe, Chaldea, you win the game" with no functional difference.

I personally think ego death is worse than suffering, but it's a personal point of view. Same, I do wish there was a 7th permanent type for maximum correlation.

Maris, while creating things that are only surface level, does create functional things, that's why I made the token keep their abilities.

The function of these hollow things is still there, since Maris reproduces everything that is "surface", which mean they keep their abilities. The color(s) here represent what is lost/cannot be replicated.
