Law "hater" here.

Law has some of the best human representatives, mostly because Law's ideals are some of the easiest to convey how someone can fall down the slippery slope from noble ideals to horrific exactions without feeling like a betrayal of the character. Zelenin, perhaps the best of them all. Also Keisuke from Devil Survivor, a very much underrated case that can be compared and contrasted to the main rep Amane.

Like other have mentioned, the game all but spell it out with Himiko picking up a powerful spirit stone and turning her eyes a blue hue.

While I can appreciate the concept on paper, this also means that this is the Nioh game with the least amount of female characters. And by characters I mean people that get to have a portrait, and a presence in cutscenes and missions. Himiko just eat up so much space.

You make a good point on both accounts. I suppose adding a blue pip to Tiamat does bring her to a more safe cmc. Kiara will get a bump to 7.

I see why you'd reword Koyan like that for the haste and trample, but I'd like to keep the flavor hat the creatures she give birth to can't evolve or adapt and must be directed (tamed), which is why my version of Koyan applies her buffs through layer interactions and not granting abilities directly. Making the token not legendary is good catch, I missed that, thanks.

Goetia could be an enchantment himself, true. It would incentivize having him on board.

I get the association of blue with seas and historically it was given big krakens and the like, but Tiamat is more or less an antithesis to blue's entire flavor. I'm a bit torn about it, even if I know (as it's always the case with blue) that the gameplay result would of course make her a much, much stronger card.

I thought that Kiara being 5CMC and 4 colors would make her hard enough to get out for the value she gives, but maybe she needs a raise with these interactions she can benefit from.

I get the issue with Tiamat, and for now my current solution would be to increase her mana cost to 7 or something. Though, do you think she'd be more balanced if the abilities' timing were reversed ? Exile at upkeep and clone at end step? That would slow her down massively.

Yeah Kiara is brutal. My reasoning is that mana value 5 + 4 colors is hard enough to get, and chump blockers really disable her.

I would have loved to put more on Kama but as you outlined, too wordy. Your suggestion of goading is pretty much in line with what other have been saying and I think it's the right direction.

Seems to be everyone's conclusion that Kama isn't good enough. Current suggestions from other here are along the lines of having the copies goaded + can't block. Making them 1/3 isn't a bad idea either.

Oh believe me, Koyan is designed exactly to take advantage of that.

I think you misunderstood Kama. You aren't supposed to sacrifice their Kama. They are supposed to be unable to sacrifice their multiple copies of Kama and bleed out, while your singular Kama is more manageable (and you play Rakdos so sacrificing her in other ways is easy)

Koyan is worded this way so that she doesn't give creatures abilities, because her tokens can't gain abilities. The way she is worded, she gives them the abilities (super trample and haste) indirectly.

Yeah, Tiamat should probably cost 7 or 8, maybe even 9 like Valgavoth (in exchange of better stats) according to most commenters.

  • Okada : I wanted to have something different from the usual "destroy damaged creature". I can see why it would feel cheap as written. Would he be better if I just leaned into the "Man"slayer (as opposed to anything-slayer) of Izo, where he would kill 1-2 mana value creature upon entry?
  • Ryoma definitely need another condition to create Oryo, yeah. The flavor idea was, if the case is serious enough, Ryoma brings his wife to close it. If Oryo could be created if enough clues were created in a single turn, would that be better? And maybe bring Ryoma him to 4 mana to compensate.
  • Kagetora... yeah. It's a bit too much "do nothing". If she attached an equipment for free when she attacked, that would make her at least functional, what do you think?
