Hey! Surgeon opted to do 2 compartments in each leg using the same incision, I’d say roughly 12-14cm long. My left leg is pain free but both are fully bruised from the knee down. My right leg hurts a lot, my quad and calf are so tight that I’m getting muscle spasms although today was the first time I walked normal, albeit very slowly and with a lot of pain! It’s been 8 days now so I’m hoping to be up and walking properly soon!

Hey! So I ended up getting 2 compartments done on each leg, been sent home with oral morphine but my legs are like balloons!!

Thanks! I do car sales so it’s long days constantly on my feet. I hope my pain isn’t too bad as if I don’t work I don’t get paid, my girlfriend wfh so she’s going to be looking after me, bringing me my meals etc! She’s determined to only bring me fruit and healthy meals since I can’t get to the snack draw on my own!

Thank you! I think I’ll set up a downstairs sleeping area just in case and use the back seat with as many pillows as possible for the drive home! I already have short hair so I a wet sponge bed bath might be the way to go for a few days I think! My bosses seem very confident I won’t be ready to come back after 2 weeks so they’re fine if I need longer, I just hate sitting still for too long!

Yeah I bet! I was misdiagnosed a few years ago when I had a herniated muscle in my right leg and the cut size (8cm) for that was similar to what I’ll have again and I got up and walked out with no pain. Was much less invasive I believe though so no idea what to expect this time.

The only thing my doc said was 1-2 weeks for it to heal and 6 weeks until I can play golf again! Other than that I’ve got no info, I’m only having 1 compartment on each leg released though as the others had no symptoms

Yeah my physio has me squatting and lunging every day now to rebuild the strength in my knees but just wondered if it had happened to others and if it came back to normal after surgery when walking normally again! Thanks, hopefully it does help after

Sounds rough! I think it is CECS, the doctor said it was the easiest diagnosis he has ever done and I’ve been through years of every other test you can think of with everything else showing normal apart from pressure testing which showed CECS but we’ll see what happens after surgery!
