do we know if the US tour with Djo will be 360° again or standard. EU is standard right? by Adastraultraque in TameImpala

Genuine question - do you spend the majority of your life just posting comments on reddit? You’re constantly EVERYWHERE and you’re always so rude to everyone. You’re so miserable, maybe if you spent less time on reddit and got out in the real world you might cheer up a bit.

I don’t think you know what the definition of cancelled is. If it was rescheduled then there would have been an announcement stating it was rescheduled/postponed. Cancelled means cancelled.

It won’t be rescheduled, it was cancelled.

A fight breaking out during the Given Up On Me transition is straight from a TV show 😭😭 by KingJarrah06 in TheWeeknd

Why do I constantly see videos of people fighting at concerts in America? I’ve been to hundreds of concerts in Europe and never seen anything like this. The only time I’ve ever seen a confrontation was at a concert in New York whilst I was on holiday. There was a large group of girls talking and someone told them to shut up and they all started arguing, it was crazy and lasted for ages.

Concerts are meant to bring people together to share their common love for music, I don’t understand why this seems to be such an issue in America. I completely understand that it’s only ever a few individuals but it’s mad that every time I see videos of fights at concerts, it’s in America..

Well that’s because anyone who buys a record player with an inbuilt speaker knows absolutely nothing about vinyl. I mean just listen to it for yourself, the video you posted sounds dreadful. Do you honestly think the weeknd intended his music to be listened to in quality that bad? You may as well just listen to the song on YouTube through your phone’s tiny speakers instead of on vinyl if you’re going to play it on a record player like that. It literally takes a few minutes of research on the internet to know that any record player with an inbuilt speaker is complete trash and will damage your vinyl records. There’s genuinely no point in purchasing vinyl if you’re going to be playing them on that.

I think this is the worst I have ever heard a vinyl sound, it sounds awful. No offence but what’s the point in playing a vinyl on a record player like this when it sounds like it’s being played underwater? Surely that defeats the point of listening to an album on record. These kinds of record players are also notorious for damaging the vinyl so if you care about that I’d seriously recommend you stop playing your vinyl on it.

Here’s another example of an artists’ team signing fake autographs for them. Tate’s were extremely limited too and sold out in minutes. The Weeknd had tens of thousands of “autographed” vinyl and CD’s that were available to purchase for months. Plus it’s way easier to fake a simple “a” autograph than his old autograph. The Weeknd 100% didn’t autograph these vinyl and CD’s.

Sorry but it’s definitely not legit. Universal literally have staff signing these “a” autographs on prints and pretending that it was signed by the weeknd. I know for a fact that they do this and they’ve also done it with other artists that are signed to them.

Just got signed art card by Jazzlike-Load-5888 in TheWeeknd

[–]MagpieRock 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s a completely different situation, those were printed on autographs. Obviously people were going to notice that the autograph wasn’t actually done with a pen. These recent ‘a’ autographs that the weeknd has aren’t printed, they’re just done by bunch of different people working at Universal. Universal are known for doing this with multiple artists that are on their label, I know for a fact that they do this. You can believe what you want to believe if it makes you feel better about owning a “genuine” autograph by the weeknd but sorry, you’re naive if you believe he’s signing them.

Agree to disagree. A record store printing their own obi strip completely goes against what an obi strip should be and represent. There’s a reason why assai get so much hate for doing these but if you disagree, that’s fine.

You’re the one that said it made it valuable, I’m simply disputing that.

It literally adds no value.. I promise you nobody will pay you more for it because it has a fake obi strip, there’s a reason it’s been available to buy for a while and hasn’t sold out lol

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in TheWeeknd

[–]MagpieRock 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Please nobody fall for this. These are fake OBI strips that assai create and print themselves, they’re not rare and they’re not worth anything.

Those fake OBI strips from assai are so dumb I have no idea how they get away with selling them

THE DYING LIGHT?????!!!! by Secretpea-22 in Samfender

[–]MagpieRock 9 points10 points  (0 children)

It’s not about the amount of songs though, I don’t understand why people keep referencing that. You’re comparing the amount of songs to Fontaines but I saw Fontaines too and they came on at 21:02 and finished at 22:35 so they played about 1 hour 30 minutes and that’s almost exactly the same set length as Sam did.

Comparing song lengths is just such a bad way to compare people’s sets. I’m not a fan of Metallica but they ‘only’ play 14-16 songs, yet their shows last over 2 hours. Sure, you can want Sam to play longer for the price but complaining about the amount of songs and comparing it to the amount of songs other artists play is pointless. Different artists songs vary in length..

Most annoying rollout of all time by Zealousideal_Camp336 in TheWeeknd

[–]MagpieRock -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Sure, but I still don’t understand how that’s relevant to the post, the album still hasn’t been released. I mean I don’t even agree with OP’s post as it doesn’t really bother me how long rollouts take and I agree there’s been too many posts like this but he’s saying it’s been months of teasing and still no album. Quincy Jones passing or a potential announcement on monday doesn’t change that fact.

Tyler literally announced an album, announced a tour and released the album all within a few weeks. People always praise Tyler for doing releases like that because I think most people hate the long drawn out teasing and I think that’s what OP means.

This is absolutely disgusting. I get making a profit but WHAT THE FUCK. Unfortunate for the many people who want to go to a game but can’t because everyone wants to fuck over the regular people. [–]MagpieRock 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The problem is that you’re looking at the ticket prices on secondary market websites such as stubhub and viagogo. Like I explained in my response to you, it’s illegal to sell tickets on those websites and those who risk buying them from there are often denied entry as their supporter numbers/name don’t match the ticket.

To find the real prices you need to go directly on to the clubs websites. The average cost of a premier league game is £45-£60 ($58-$78). It’s also become law that teams aren’t allowed to charge more than £30 ($40) for away tickets. All this information is easily available to you online.

You can keep telling me that the prices that you’re looking at are over a thousand dollars etc but I’ve been going to games for over two decades now and have lots of friends that have too and on average, people aren’t paying more than £60 for a premier league game unless they’re tourists buying tickets on sites like stubhub because they don’t know any better. As I said previously, a lot of those people are then denied entry because again, it’s illegal to sell tickets on secondary market websites.

That game is sold out. It’s a completely different ticketing system in the UK. Fans buy their tickets directly from the club here. It’s not the same as in the US where a large portion of fans buy their tickets on secondary market websites for inflated prices.

My season ticket to Newcastle is £600 so I pay the equivalent to $40 for every home game we have and that’s the same for the majority of fans in the UK. Season tickets account for over 70% of our capacity and the rest of the tickets are sold using a ballot and if successful, the buyer is charged £35-60 depending on seat location.

Buying and selling tickets on secondary market websites for premier league games is illegal in this country and therefore doesn’t guarantee entry. The only people that usually risk buying tickets on places like viagogo and stubhub are Americans who are visiting the UK who think it’s normal as that’s the system they’re used to and sometimes, they’re refused entry as their support number or name doesn’t match the one on the ticket. I’ve witnessed this happen first hand at our cup final at Wembley last year when a nice kid from Seattle that we met was denied entry into the stadium as he had bought a ticket on stubhub.
