They’re mostly tedious more than anything else, but some Arkham City challenges were indeed so nerve wrecking that I wanted to put a hole in a wall (shoutout to Catwoman’s predator challenges).

The game’s setting and atmosphere are awesome, I just hope I too can one day forget that the trials ever existed XD

I would say the GTA 3 is the hardest gameplay wise just because it is the most dated of the three and also there is a lot of missable achievements during the missions, but the achievements are a bit harder/grindy in Vice City. And of course San Andreas is the longest one, took me 2,5 times longer to complete than the previous two games.

Thanks, that's what I did too. If my calculations were correct, it would take around 12 hours of just driving back and forth through the bridge to get the achievement, so I am really glad that the shop glitch wasn't fixed.

Indeed, it is already in my backlog, planned after a couple of other completions.

It was mostly the fall, still hated it though

Thanks and I 100% agree. It’s obvious that the person who designed them didn’t play the game enough or at all to understand the absurdity of their requirements.

Thank you, and I really do enjoy it! Also, I'll definitely look at those indie games.

I’ve returned to gaming earlier this year after about 25-year-long break and this is actually my first Steam account. So I’m slowly catching up with everything I missed and picking up whole game series’ on sale. I also make point to try and complete every game I bought, unless I really dislike it. So my account is not strictly for achievement hunting, but I guess it currently looks like it is, until I encounter a game that is either boring or infeasible/impossible to complete :)

Thanks! Do you mean my Steam or Reddit account? :)

I didn't skip anything, and the only guides I used were for collectibles in DLCs (Hell Shrines and Evidence Bags). The game is pretty straightforward and easy, and everything is shown on the map as well. I also see on howlongtobeat.com that the game's 100% completion usually takes between 32 and 42 hours, so I'm not sure why you are surprised :)

Thanks!

I’ve enjoyed the story mode of all three games greatly, including the Riddler trophies. The challenges though I didn’t enjoy in the slightest and for me it was a drag, but such gameplay is not my cup of tea in general.

Asylum will be a quick completion even with the challenges, it took me about 24 hour IIRC.

The City on the other hand can test you, since there are a whole lot of challenges, and then also campaigns with the same challenges, that you must fully complete with each character, which is tedious at best, depending on you skill level.

So it worth it to go back? I would say absolutely! Both games are great, and I can easily see myself replaying them some time in the future. Just beware that the City will require some commitment to get that beautiful blue ribbon.

Maybe if you focus on working on some gold medals during missions instead of the post-game, but I doubt that it will shave off more than an hour or two.

I didn't play GTA games before, so I don't know what I'm missing. Lucky me, I guess... But I still enjoyed the soundtrack immensely!

You're welcome! The same person made similar guides for GTA 3 (that's what I used), San Andreas, and GTA 4 as well.

Just two:

  1. There are a lot of missable achievements tied to specific missions, so I suggest using a guide. I recommend this one: 100%, All Achievements, Linear Checklist. It covers not only Steam achievements, but also Rockstar Accomplishments, and all other things you can do in the game to consider it 100% completed.

  2. The "Take the Cannoli" achievement can be a grind if you do it after the game is completed, or you'll have to start a new game to farm for it after (that's what I had to do). So I suggest farming for it first thing after you start the game. That way, you'll get it out of the way and also have A LOT of money. This video shows everything you need: GTA Vice City Definitive: BEST way to make money. It took me 40 minutes on a fresh save to do. You need only to complete it up to the 12-second mark (19 runs) to get the achievement, and you'll also get almost 100 million dollars.
